IEPs are great, if you are in a good school system. Or have the $ for a lawyer. Just because the IEP says a kid needs a service doesn't mean they will get it. If there is no staff available to provide the service. A lawyer may be able to bully a school system into finding the staff. But this kid likely needs ABA therapy and a shadow and its dang near impossible to get those things in school if you don't have good insurance or are in a real good school system. Speech and OT once a week is the most he'd probably get in public school. If he's seeing a developmental pediatrician he could get qualified for ABA through medicaid but the wait list is long and would likely be 30 plus hours in a Clinic setting. When hes at legal age for school theyd have to enroll in a home school and go through clinic notes to match activities with curriculum. I doubt anyone in this family is willing to take him there and participate in the parent trainings.

Also adding: if hes indeed " special needs" and on the spectrum he would also qualify for all his therapies outside of school. But again that would require someone to call around and sign him up and get him to all his appointments and do the homework. He would also qualify for gas reimbursement or transportation to these appointments so there really is no excuse. Just laziness.

Yeah. Ben has been going to some kind of kid group/pre-k thing for at least a year or two. I'm not sure about Lucy, but I would be shocked if he wasn't in something similar. I know Mama Shart gets dunked on a lot over how Sammie turned out, but she's really not in the same legue as Dalton or Kims parents.

IEPs, in theory, are good. But there are plenty of kids on them that don't need to be, but the parents want them to be stupid so the kid gets extra help. I'm not saying kids on IEPs are stupid, don't get me wrong. But it's definitely abused by some people.

Aiden? Poor thing needs more than that. He needs to be adopted. Hell, I'd take him.

I always feel awful for that poor kid, he looks dead inside and just being absolutely thrown to the side, he need early intervention, and potty training, don’t they just hangout in the house mostly anyways? But I guess tracking poop times (most kids do it at the same ish time everyday) and up until then, put on some big boy undies and set alarms for every 30 minutes is too much work. Buhhhh shit parents make me MATI

ETA my kids preschool absolutely helps with potty training, and give reports on how well they are doing.

I couldnt watch much and cant listen to it at the moment, but Sammie did a Facebook live at shart residence. It seems her and Bently are dancing to music on TV. She play fights with him and acts more like a sibling then parent. She seems to be taunting him?.
