c) Necroing: No necroing of threads unless there is new information (an actual article, not an opinion piece. An opinion piece would be a new thread. And not your fucking opinion). This leads to people posting as if it were current, only to realize its like from 5 years ago.
d) No one word responses: Same as it ever was.

As a site-wide rule:

a) If you want to talk about politics and lolcows, it sticks in A&H in a separate forum. It doesn't bleed into anything else, so people who don't want to deal with it don't have to. Another forum would be good for this.

If we want article 'standards', then just one:

a) If it is a parody article or an article from a batshit site, two new tags that mark them as such so people know to not take it seriously or know what it is so they can discuss appropriately. That's about it.

But I agree with all of this. Coming from the guy who is one of if not the most vehemently outspoken against any further moderation on A&H. While I like "slapfights" I prefer they stay civil to some extent as long as people are adding to the discussion.

Whether there is too much left wing or right wing users kinda misses the point I think. There will always be a majority of conservative voices in the dome because they have lesser spaces to voice their opinions than woke twitter.

Null wants to contain the political sperging autism, but also wants to respect the wishes of the predominantly left-wing oldguard users, neither of which side can really seem to find a co-existence, or even seems willing. You can't/won't ban the people who hate A&H and stir the pot, but you also don't want to ban A&H, or you would have done it already. The threat of another @SIGSEGV glowpost runs the risk of tanking the site. Here's my solution:

Splinter the sites. Create a new subdomain (call it politispergfarms or retardfarms, or whatever). Spool up an instance of the kiwi Xenforo on it, do an initial mirror of all the kiwifarms data (users, threads, messages), then prune all threads outside of A&H ones. Any existing user can just log into their account on the new site. From there on in, if you want to do politisperging, you sign up for retardfarms. Lolcow autism, sign up for Kiwifarms. Any new member who wants to do both can just make an account on each.

Ban politisperging on Kiwifarms, and pre-emptively make a snippy "Retardfarms mocking thread" where anyone with the autism to sift through the splinter site and post screenshots of threads can spend their time.

Then, any arguments of "A&H nazis corrupting and ruining kiwifarms" and "refugees shitting up the site" will be null and void. Anyone who is autistic enough to still rage about A&H users will be confirmed for being retarded, and the risk of glowposting taking down the entire site will be slightly lessened in the case of a domain seizure (still fucked if they seize the server tho).

Also, then you can turn the ability to sign up on/off on the different sites according to different criteria. Political retardation/geopolitical happening? Shut down registration on RetardFarms, but you can keep the registration open on Kiwifarms. Lolcow happening causing retard influx? Shut down registration on Kiwifarms but RetardFarms signups can remain open.

It's a shit solution, but it's honestly the only way I can see this whole thing working out with the hand being dealt.

This option would enrage the A&H users, and you'd have a shitstorm period you'd have to wade through boardwide for a little bit before someone else most likely makes a splinter. This option would also cause you to lose any of the benefit you get from increased traffic/user donations from A&H primary users you'd lose.

3. The site-splinter I mentioned previously.

A site where one group is actively fighting with another will always be a hostile shithole. Choose which side you care about more and commit, or split the baby in two. Everything else will be a half-measure IMO.

Tell the people who keep whining about A&H to go fuck themselves or get banned for spamming staff, and ban people who get too serious about politics, or go too in-depth/off topic about politics on other areas of the site - and leave things as they are otherwise.
