I don't know if I agree with that. I've met women with BPD, and they all had a similar inability to control their emotions. They're all too sensitive to what other people think of them. You're thinking of psychopaths. Psychologists used to differentiate between psychopaths and sociopaths, while psychopaths are cunning, charming and manipulative (think serial killer who had all his neighbors fooled and was a staple of the community until they discovered his garden full of corpses) a sociopath is your average criminal, dumb and impulsive. Jails are full of sociopaths. They both share the lack of empathy for others, tendency towards criminal behavior, lack of guilt etc. There are some more distinctions but neither one of these terms are something a psychologist would diagnose you with, they clinical diagnosis is "antisocial personality disorder".

On a whim I decided to look up if men can have BPD and fuck me if they don't literally describe Ralph in how BPD expresses itself in men.

This is probably TMI, but I've got 2 siblings with BPD, a brother and a sister. It does manifest differently between the genders but their is one trait I do find they have (even if they wont admit it) is shame. There are periods of time, where even though they're under the influence of their many addictions, where they'll drop out of contact, or go reclusive, in a deep depression, because deep down they're worried about how their behavior has affected how people perceive them and on some level care (even though that care is mostly for themselves). I've spoken to others who have BPD family and partners and that period of reclusive shame (that is met with a screeching rage if you happen to be where they've chosen to retreat to) is common. Following this will be a period where they re-invent/re-discover themselves, suddenly becoming a hippy/straight-edge/avant-garde artist/current thing often with a change in clothing, new hair color, maybe new tattoos and image (and more screeching as you're not appreciating their new lifestyle/personality/whatever). There is a self-consciousness and image awareness that I think Ralph just does not have in my personal experience with BPD.

There is always overbleed with cluster B personalities, but given the lack of shame and remorse (even if that remorse is for the entirely wrong reasons) has me agreeing with @3322 that it is ASPD. I get that this is all gay armchair psychology shit, and that all cluster Bs are psychotic blackholes of interpersonal malfunction but Ralph fits more neatly of the diagnosis of low functioning sociopath than NPD or BPD, especially when we have stories of him being cruel and violent towards animals during childhood.
