Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Ghost looks like somebody from Psycho.

I preferred the old cloth look with the skull balaclava.

This is like some edgy mask that not even any of the combatants in that war in Ukraine are using.

Edit: adding a picture for reference.

Just opened Steam. Fucking 70 dollars for regular and 100 for special version.

Guess "next gen" is finally here for me ugh

The dumb operator pack the special edition comes with tells us that Farah will at least be an operator in multiplayer.

Edit: It's really weird that the Call of Duty redditors seem to think that they are going to completely scrap and retcon the Warzone story simply to reuse Viktor. I mean, I don't expect MWII to talk about Verdansk getting nuked cause of Zombies, but with how big Activision has been to make Warzone connect to *everything* it seems odd to have this opinion now.

Got the ultimate edition because I'm a retarded boomer. I was hoping to see more gameplay because while the campaigns are generally good, everyone is here for the MP.

They already removed Vanguard from the home screen when MW2022 is still almost 5 months away.

So with the "next generation" of Call of Duty coming, they've dropped a few details on features and shit, I'll put them in a list for people who don't like reading articles or watching 30 minute long videos.

  • 10 Default attachments like how it is in Vanguard
  • "Base weapons" are a thing with progression trees
  • Vault edition with skins, weapon customization pack, and the battlepass with 50 tiers
  • Warzone 2.0 releasing later
  • Sandbox mode also releasing later
  • Huge focus on vehicles with much more variety, including troop transport helicopters
  • Swimming and water vehicles are in the game
  • Ricochet Anti-Cheat on lauch for both MWII and WZ 2.0
  • Mobile Warzone later this year
  • Special Ops is back as the Co-op mode (no zombies this time?)
  • New and improved movement such as divivng, peeking over ledges with pistols, and just being a lot more agile
  • Tweaking of attachments for more stat changes
  • Battle Maps and Core Maps type combat pacing. Core Maps being 6v6 while Battle Maps are more open sections of Warzone 2.0's map for 32v32 or bigger.
  • Improved AI and AI being included in Warzone 2.0

Really that's all worth pointing out in my opinion, but I'm looking forward to the game, Infinity Ward seems to know what they're doing now so I have hope.

Vault Edition image showing off the shit that comes with it. Costs $100 USD.

Stop pre-ordering video games :jacepout: . At least wait a little bit to know more about MP.

Good. I hope this time IW actually cares about this mode. SpecOps was ok but the AI was way too tough and their "aimbot" behavior didn't help.

Not a fan of this rootkit.

I thought MWII was going to be separate from MW2019 integration.

Great, now our phones will have more bloated apps.

That Spec Ops was OP and unfair.

Looks like a good time, but I'll be waiting for the Microsoft acquisition to go through so the game can end up on Game Pass.

I know PlayStation has the marketing deal still, but surely Microsoft can still throw its weight around to make this happen?

A lot of the information is interesting but the hype around this game blows Cold War and Vanguards out the water. Remember people even went as far as to say Vanguards trailer had view bots.

Infinity Ward's back to being the top dog these days, Sledgehammer never really managed to find their footing for one reason or another (the fact that Vanguard's gone out of its way to avoid being a WWII game as much as it can doesn't help), and Treyarch lost a lot of goodwill after Black Ops 4 and 3 to a lesser extent (although Cold War is a good step in the right direction).

Do not forget: the standard edition price has bumped up to $70. Really, Activision?
