I really dont think they are edgy. Least in the classical sense ; for Chris and zach for example they seem to have developed a free spirited humor that isnt overly limited . Its not trying to push buttons typically; it just doesnt want to pull punches.

Yeah, it's due to missed payments 100% There was an earlier tweet I posted late last year where Shadman mentioned to a fan that he was treading water (this was about mid-last-year) since losing his full-time job (I think he was working at Funimation? Can't quite recall. But I think his bosses got wind of the Dafne Keen debacle and booted his arse out the door) and that he had to use his commission work and personal savings to prop up his website since it wasn't bring in enough ad-rev.

After paying off bail the last of his savings would've been burnt through. It was only a matter of time before the website went under.

Back in 2017 Shaddai Prejean and Mick Lauer were living a stone's-throw from the Cartoon Network office (I got it mixed up with Funimation, so fucking sue me), where Lauer was working as a voice actor on 'Lego City' (and possibly other cartoons, you can go check for yourself).


On Sleepy Cabin, Shadman was often praised for how rapidly he could churn out quality backgrounds for the boys' animations; so we know he had the skill for production work. Prejean had done various background work for Lauer and it isn't too unreasonable to think that Lauer could've put in a good word in for Prejean and gotten Shad work at the company Lauer was a regular at. All Lauer would have to do is make a small edit to one of the shorts Shad did for him - to change 'Shadman' to 'Shaddai Prejean' - and Shadman could've gotten a foot in the door as an entry-level employee at Cartoon Network on background or linework.

On the Shadbase streams - a handful of which can still be found on youtube, go look them up yourself - he would occasionally, although rarely, mention having "just come home from work" or "just finished work" but refused to elaborate what his job was or where. This was in the same time period that he was living with Lauer.

Yes, we do speculate the behind the scenes goings-on but not without clues that point in that direction. That's why I'm constantly correcting people on the whole "Shad was addicted to heroin" rumor because it was based on the misinterpretation of one hazy photo, which I analysed more closely and discovered to be an old phone-case, and not a block of black tar. Propagating a lie based on misinterpretation muddies the water, so I dig for facts that will support my hypotheses the best I can with what little information is available.

Was it the recent More Insane DOS Games video where Chris mentions a mechanic in Bowlbo? So he is working on it, it seems. But you also have to keep in mind he is one person and it's been a couple years. He doesn't have an entire studio and he has other commitments.

Idk what the fuck Nightmare Cops's excuse is. It's been like 6 years and the game still isn't out and they have an actual studio to work at and no other commitments.

Prior to his public face-doxxing last year there weren't any confirmed images of Shaddai Prejean; only one speculative image from March 2017, and then a misappropriated photograph that turned out to be of a completely different person. Also the name 'Prejean' is fairly common in the US and Shadman could've used a middle-name since no one even knows if he has one.

And even if he didn't, there's no reason an employer back in 2017 would have even known there was a link between Shadman and Shaddai Prejean since Turkey Tom's expose didn't come out until the 17 November 2020 where Shad's full name was mentioned. Prior to November 2021, the name 'Shaddai Prejean' has never (to my knowledge) been in any publication other than the Kiwifarms (maybe ED?) - so unless the Cartoon Network hiring department was aware of Kiwifarms back in 2017 (when the thread was much smaller as it had only just kicked off that year and had less attention than what it gathered after Shadman's arrest) there's no reason for them to have drawn the connection.

All that being said, it wouldn't have been long until Shadman's online behaviour would've come out - especially after his cease-and-desist letter from Dafne Keen's agent - and he would've been shown the door.

I don't know 100% if he did work as an underling at Cartoon Network; I'm just saying that it's not completely out of the question. It's not what you know in Hollywood, it's who you know and Mick Lauer could've pulled some strings to get 'Prejean' some irl work before Shadman shat the bed by drawing rape-porn of an actual publicly-recognizable minor. And that there's a lot of clues that point to it.

Oh and there's also the suspicious way that Shadman temporarily shut down Shadbase after the X-23 debacle - which he didn't need to do since only the Keen image was being requested for removal, not the entire site; and yet he pulled the whole thing down. It was like he tried to hide all his other artwork from the public when the focus of legal attention was suddenly placed on him. As though he was scared of people seeing it. Which was very strange. So the question had to be asked "why would the infamous Shadman even care who saw his online work, since his online work was his entire career?"

And my answer was "because his entire career at that moment in time wasn't completely online and he was afraid of losing the offline career because of his online work. So he hid the online career to protect the offline one."

Shaddai Prejean was always afraid of his online identity becoming known irl (eg. "take it ez babe") and took steps to keep Shadman separate from Shaddai Prejean. All that threatened to come crashing down when Joshua Moon gave his personal details to Keen's agents and Prejean was served with very real legal papers. Fucking around online suddenly got very serious for the little edgelord. Prejean could've had a career in mainstream animation - but he fucked it all up by being an obvious pedo (if he'd been subtle about it he'd still be employable. Eg. Disney).

It was the cheesecake "art" of the - at the time - 12 year old Stranger Things actress, Millie Bobby Brown, that his shithead fanboy got her to sign at a convention. I'm fairly certain that was before the Keen incident but the "art" was toeing the line so Shad never got called out for it at the time and it wasn't as explicit as the Keen piece.
