The Final Fantasy Thread

It's really good, usually people seem to think it's good or at least okay for a spin-off.
I always heard good things about it, but couldn't get into it because it was an action RPG. I assume it's one of the less popular entries in the series because a lot of other people have the same problem (also, the spin-offs from the main series in general do not have the best reputation).

It's good if you turn your brain off and don't question a lot of what's happening in this prequel to FF7 that nobody will mention ever again.

Like how Rogue One is good if you don't question why Vader, in A New Hope, doesn't tell Leia "bitch I saw your ship flee with the Death Star plans 10 minutes ago"

For someone who’s never played any of the games. Which one would you recommend starting out with? Preferably one that does not have a lot of grinding.
FF6 is pretty good. It's one of the easier entries and unless you're playing the GBA version you don't really need to grind.

I just did that battle recently. It's still like that in the PSP version, and even my team being disgustingly overleveled didn't seem to matter if I didn't have the right job loadout for everyone. The Wiki recommends your levels be around 30-35, and I went in at around level 66 and still managed to get stomped a few times. Thank goodness I had two Dragoons that could two-shot Belias' minions.
There are multiple easy ways to beat that fight.

Like when you've got Ramza yelling and accumulating until he's at 50 speed and 99 PA Velius just kinda does not like what he's wandered into.

Or even in the GBA version, just the ol' Quick + Ultima + Celestriad + Soul of Thamasa combo makes anything trivial

Wonder if they'll do anything to tie Crisis Core into the new Remake timeline with this release.

At any rate, it's good to see the next part of the new VII games being confirmed.
It’s new voice actors and new dialogue.

Noticed this in the Church scene with Aerith. It’s Briana instead of the original girl and the dialogue is slightly different.

You can also cheese it by wearing the chameleon robe since it absorbs holy and the ai incorrectly thinks Holy Sword skills are holy attacks and refuses to use them. Although you need to have bothered to buy and keep one before you overwote your save though.
