Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

And I know Oscar Isaac is good in other things, but that Ex Machina good will has dried up with me. It has to come down to direction and when you imagine JJ or Rian trying to explain their motivations, it makes sense why their performances are terrible.

Isaac can work with good material. He just needs good directing and a fucking direction as to where the character is going so he can have some investment since all writers of the sequel trilogy had no idea what to do with him.

Disney basically had two missions. Make back their initial purchase of Star Wars of $4billion as quickly as possible. This can be done through movies, shows, toys, license deals, and even just continually selling already made content (or endlessly releasing special editions like Lucas did). But movies had the biggest potential to rake in quick cash. And then their other mission was to setup Star Wars to be bled dry and get as much cash out of it as they possibly could before people realized that they had no long term vision for Star Wars other than....."Hey everyone we own Star Wars now!".

The thing is that there probably will be quality Star Wars content from stuff that is licensed. Video games, books, toys, models, and whatever. But the big items like the movies, theme parks, tv shows, streaming shows, will be mass marketed garbage. Likely until either someone else owns or controls Disney (which I do not see ever happening now that jews control it outright). Or someone purchases Star Wars from Disney (likely also never going to happen).

We are basically in phase two of Disney owning Star Wars. Phase one was churn out as much stuff as possible. Phase two is bleed it dry. And phase three is either sell it or let the IP finally just rot and die or wait decades for a revival.

Its rare that Disney lets an IP go when they own it, Bob Iger may be gone but his mentality of "own fucking everything" is still very much present because it was a winning strategy in the long term. Even if you produce new crap, the money made from selling the old stuff will still go to you. It helps that with streaming services, you are mostly in control of everything, right down to viewship reports.

So Disney isnt going to let Star Wars go, ever, because even at the worst of times they still produce a passive and yet very big amount of money. Because even devalued, SW is still an icon even at the best of times, a pillar of culture that cant just lose all of its value unless enough time pass without any content.

They need to bankrupt first before letting anyone touch their IPs. Disney is infamous with giving the finger to public domain laws so what makes you think that they will let anything go that easily?
Of course Anakin has to be more like Filoni’s swashbuckler than George’s well-intentioned version during those flashbacks.

Also, the fact they didnt bother using de-aging effects or at least some make up to hide the fact these actors are 20 years older just shows the level of effort and budget involved in this series.
This is ep 2 Anakin, for fuck's sake, he looks like a grampa
With Furloni even drawing her as living inside of Maul's head rent free.

Oh for Fuck's sake. No matter how much Feloni and his fanfiction wants that to be the case, she will NEVER live in Maul's head rent free, thats Kenobi. KENOBI! He cant help but make Ahsoka the center of EVERYTHING these days, doesnt he?
Ezra and Ahsoka have become the new Starkiller but worse, only difference is that at least George and old Lucasfilm were smart enough to lessen Galen's importance after TFUII

It helped Galen was suppose to be dead after TF1 but suddenly they demanded a sequel and the TF2 writers had no idea on what to do. So "Awww, CLONING, yeah, cloning. Whew! We dodged that bullet"

Even Filoni understood that in Rebels when Obi-wan handedly killed Maul finally. Now, instead of passively keeping in shape like Chuck Norris would have done, he took up Jedi exercises after getting burned by Vader.

Snipps is OK. But Dawson makes me uninterested in her performance.

She's the wrong fit. Also the wrong age based on the fact they screwed up the timeline

I am going to watch the new Kenobi episode later since sunk-cost fallacy but this thread makes it sound like it would be really funny.

Also Taika Waititi has ideas for his star wars film. He's not the greatest director, but I'd respect him greatly if he commits to not putting any pre-established characters in his movie, even more if this also will make Filoni's OCs not involved.

Thats all we need, more MCU humor in fucking star wars.
Just crossover both and reveal SW was part of the MCU aaaaallloooong

Seriously, why not? Just fucking deal the death blow to this brand's identity already, I know you all want to.

To be fair, Obi-wan killing Maul in seconds was pretty symbolic on how Obi-wan evolved but Maul was the same man he was back at the clone wars. Besides, its clear Maul didnt want to live anymore, so I almost see that fight as giving him relief through victory or death no matter what.

It was a bittersweet end for Maul but now he could finally rest.

Feloni CAN do good shit but they are getting more and more far apart to justify keeping him around.

He is literally the "best" that they got because they alienated everyone else.

Star Wars Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Vader has too much of the Bruce Wayne mentality where he doesn't kill any of his nemesis instead throwing them into the revolving door joke of a prison system known as Arkham Asylum where they can just Shawshank their way out only for the cycle to continue on and on because Batman is too much of a fucking pussy to just end them right there because "I be no better than the dude that killed my parents, muh morals!".

Everyone misses Batman's point to be edgy or lolironic about him not killing the joker. Its not that he's supposed to be moral or w/e, its that he doesn't believe in power over life and death being concentrated in one person. He just stops the criminals, delivers them to the police, and its up to society to decide what to do with them. And the answer is universally "send them to arkham, learn absolutely nothing".

The fact the Joker still draws breath is a failing on the society Batman lives in, not the Batman.

So, let me get this straight.

The Lard Lords of Milwaukee are now on record for saying that TFA was "a better version of Return of the Jedi", that it was "unrealistic fanservice" for there to be TIES and stormtroopers in Rogue One, and that Obi-Wan magically has merit simply because they turn off their brains, and lap it up like good consumers.

...remind me why these people are regarded as some kind of authority when it comes to Star Wars, again?

No you don't remember, Daisy Ridley was charismatic as hell in TFA. Also Finn and Poe shoula been gay.

I don't "hate" any of the actors in any of these movies either. It's the writers, directors, producers, etc who piss me off and deserve all the shit they get.

I kind of hate Daisy Ridley and Frumpy Asian a bit because they leaned all the way in on the Force is Female and Starwars fans are the worst racists. That's nothing to do with their shitty performances though.

And yes, any shitty performance in a starwars film says more about the production staff than the actor afaiac. There is budget. You can get new actors or trainers. If you didn't it means you were either happy with the results or lazy.

What angers me most is this is almost exactly how I wanted the Yoda v Dooku fight to go in Episode 2 so to have it finally appear in this shoddy production?

Send robot more booze please.

Will not lie, this was a mostly decent but poorly produced fight. I know I was just complaining about the Wuxia shit, but him force stopping her downward blow and then her getting one-inch-punch shoved was a good kung fu homage.

I honestly sort of wish they'd have leaned all way into the "Kung Fu Master" shit and Vader had just schooled her without even using a lightsaber until the very end. Just let her get full on rage while he doesn't even lift a hand above his waist.

Him tossing her a saber was dumb as fuck, and definitely not a vader move.

It's OK to hate actors if they hate you too. Social media has destroyed the Hollywood star and Mark Hamill is the best example when it comes to our favorite space opera. I've felt sorry for him in the past but I slowly realized he's a nutjob as I started to "know" the man. He openly hates half the country, lashed out at fans, little children and wanted to abort his own granddaughter in 2016. Political sperging coming up but I'd love to tell Hamill that a majority of the people who tore into Disney and Lucasfilm when it dropped Luke Skywalker like a hot potato lean right while his SJW pals are A-OK with the iconic character's humiliation and destruction. Luke is barely even in Kenobi and I fully expect him to lick the Lars homestead's windows, piss his pants and pick his nose when he's shown again.
