If the sequels aren't cringey fanfiction I don't know what is.
This is what happens when you have to pay a hundred coffee stirrers and a dozen diversity managers and sensitivity readers.I guess someone agreed with me and fixed Disney's fuckup. This is getting ridiculous.

But still, Biggs is a straight white male with no nostalgia value to milk like Obi Wan. They brought back Wedge in TROS before him. They really have to be desperate to try to-
oh shit
A shame Disney instead decided to squander Biggs by making him your average soy chugger who goes porking around with Porkin on the gayest vacation planet around.
But dude just… why care so much? Why does billionaire George Lucas (who actually IS responsible for Disney Wars) need anyone to run this kind of defense for him? Why write 6 full paragraphs on how fucking stupid and wrong some random assholes are on the inter- you know what, I just remembered where I was. Nevermind. If RLM was just a running faucet of retarded takes, I think I could ignore them a lot easier. The problem is that, much like the knuckle-dragging retards behind The People v George Lucas, their SW videos have become instrumental in spreading the tired and easily-debunked information that an irritating chunk of the SW fandom has parroted for literal decades:
Star Wars being a happy accident that Lucas just lucked himself into?
ANH being saved in the edit by Marcia Lucas? ESB being the film Lucas was "least involved" with, (despite having to wrench control over production halfway into shooting)? The "original versions" of the OT hostage so Lucas can peddle the Special Editions? Lucas surrounding himself with "Yes" men and being the sole writer & director outside of nothing but ego? Go through all of those, and tell me how many of those are frequent talking points in the myriad of SW videos they've made, and are consistently bandied about by fans that heard them there first.
You can argue that RLM was not the sole originator of these leaps of fan-driven misinformation, but they sure as fuck magnified them to the point where they were considered the "uncontested truth" about Lucas and the franchise for years, which isn't helped by the fact that they've done absolutely nothing to correct all that misinformation in subsequent videos. To this day, most fans eschew any and all research on the production history of the PT when critiquing it, resorting simply to "lol, watch the Plinkett Reviews, they explain everything."
There's no small irony in the fact that for all their reputation as "movie buffs" and "cinema lovers", RLM's insight on Star Wars is arguably some of the least-informed and poorly-researched on the internet. But that hasn't stopped every chest-slapping, mouth-breathing OT Purist from regurgitating the literal head-canon of Star Wars' production history bandied about in every SW-related video RLM churns out.
Because neither RLM nor their fanbase care about being accurate or informed. They care about vindicating their hatred of Lucas...no matter how much of it is built on lies and internet hearsay.
Which is funny, because Disney Drones employ the same tactic in order to justify their consooming the current canon by repeatedly bleating about how "Disney saved SW from irrelevance" and "the EU was 80% garbage"...based on nothing but misinformation and hearsay.
Definitely an interesting bleed-over when it comes to herd mentality, I must say.
I see a retarded take on Star Wars, I talk about it. This isn’t new, or even remotely reserved to RLM.But dude just… why care so much? I'm still aghast someone thought to put this into print. Like, bitch, do these guys know who and what they are? They're wanted criminals by the ruling galactic power, and they're supposed to be soldiers. You don't get to go on """self-care""" like some upper class boomer wine aunt with too much money to burn.
I don't get why anyone puts this much stock into RLM, haters or fanboys, tbqh.only RLM manages to instagate high levels of salt. I wonder why that is…
They are serious....
Just to be sure, they were 100 percent serious? I want to be sure before I say anything more
"Akiva"? Like... Akiva Goldsman? Thanks for reminding me that they married Wedge off to Chuck Wendig's Hillary Clinton insert.

Four words: Friends with Steven Spielberg. How the fuck does someone that dumb get to direct films set in the two most famous sci-fi series in the world?
No offense but you seriously underestimate how people react and feel when it comes to Star Wars. The fans have a sense of ownership over the entire thing that's not like any other movie or series of films. To them it's all personal because they've been obsessed with it their entire lives. It's just a fucking movie franchise that became a vehicle for merch sales. Have a laugh or enjoy it, but nobody should be getting so emotionally involved with it to get upset at some normie slobs opinions about it.

No, I see it all the time. It's why I'm so annoyed with so many being such insufferable faggots about Star Wars.No offense but you seriously underestimate how people react and feel when it comes to Star Wars.
I'm more disappointed they became what they hate than anything else honestlyNo, I see it all the time. It's why I'm so annoyed with so many being such insufferable faggots about Star Wars.
It's been a decade since the Disney acquisition. Star Wars is what it is and people need to either accept it, laugh at it or get over it. Nobody should be getting upset/angry over it at this point (unless you're a grifting fandom menace youtuber I guess, but they're the biggest faggots) especially at 3 normie slobs over whatever opinions they have on the series.

Personally I don't consider what George did in the OT to be "mystery boxes" per se, because unlike the things JJ pulled in the sequels things like the Clone Wars line in ANH don't have a massive bearing on the current story being told. It's just there for worldbuilding. A real mystery box doesn't have jack shit in it, it just appears as if it does. If George pulled a JJ he'd do something like refuse to explain who Obi Wan is, what a Jedi is, where he got Anakin's lightsaber from, what the force is, etc. It would all just be "mysterious". The closest thing to a mystery box in the OT is probably what happened to Anakin, but even then that still ended up getting explained pretty well without turning into a complete clusterfuck like Rey's parents.Star Wars is a low-effort Lord of the Rings.
By that I mean Lucas created a whole deep, vast world and gave you just enough glimpses to want more. He did mystery boxes correctly which is you have events, places, and people who sound cool and give just enough information about them (but like the hacks from Lost, you figure out what they are before hand; Tolkien had all his past events and off-screen events figured out in autistic detail, lucas did a few line description and filled in more later) and let the audience fill in the rest. His dialogue was shit, but he had a immaculate sense of high-level story design .
This creation of this world, with lots of room for you imagine events and fill in your own stories, is why nerds get sucked in and put so much energy into it.
Considering what the discourse online about it (and even ITT) is like, that's never gonna happen. Look how many people were genuinely looking forward to the Kenobi show just to get bait and switched by Lucasfilm for the thousandth time. And it's gonna happen again with Andor in two months.Star Wars is what it is and people need to either accept it, laugh at it or get over it.
Seems to me like a case of shit taste they overall have with Star Wars outside the OT overall and that is even when I overall agree with them the PT wasn't good in executionRLM?
It should be a scary sign that normies who even realize this stuff is shit will end up enjoying/tolerating it in some weird way if they continue to watch it. Either that or Star Trek is just so fucking bad that Star Wars becomes enjoyable in comparison I guess.
