Not necessary just like any other category suffered directly due to a malicious falsehood. Not that there wouldn't be other dots to connect but you wouldn't have to prove that. You can't point a finger at your "murderer" then scoot and think you're off the hook when the villagers lynch him.
Again, there is no proof that Null has released that the DDOS was even connected to some third party reacting to the Byuu story. I even remember him saying on his show "there is no way to prove it and really no point as it just gives them the attention they want" at least a couple times.

DDOS attacks happened many times before Byuu, the post-Byuu attacks were just unique in their intensity and really fucked up the site. SOMEBODY caused massive harm to Null financially, but there is zero proof that I know of that 100% it was Byuu's weeb crew or an outsider who decided on their own to attack the Farms as revenge for Byuu. In your murderer analogy, the accuser would only be in trouble if there was proof that the villagers lynched the murderer because of that accusation and not for some other reason. In this case, there is no hard proof that the DDOS attacks happened because of the Byuu story. At least none to which we are privy at this time.

The two things that point to it 1) the timing and 2) the tech abilities of Byuu compared to your average lolcow are not the same as proof in a court of law. It's just not enough.

Yes, I think there may be a case for reputational harm against Byuu, Hector, and Wayne once Byuu is found, but I think the USA Today and DDOS lawsuit ideas are dead ends for Null. But absolutely, the bullshit rumors they made up did cause reputational damage to this site and Null personally and I would find it funny as hell if he smashed them in court.

And like I said, there'd be more to prove; I was responding specifically to the idea that he'd need to have had a hand in it.

But on that matter I'm not actually sure how firmly you'd really need to establish it. On MATI he was talking about identifying DDoSers in the general sense of it being irrelevant to countering it technically, not the context of some kind of reputational/nuisance/whatever claim. At the very least there's probably trainloads of tranny twitter terrorists who took responsibility citing this reason, which is probably at least supportive (at least in terms of scaling a remedy if not primary evidence) but Again. this wasn't my point.

...can you actually get sued for a Spartacus gambit?

Does he have to release proof publicly if he had proof? How do you know he doesn't have proof? I'm certain with all the outraged caused on the internet it's safe to say that DDoSing was one of the reactions to the hit piece Marcan and Byuu put together. Yes, DDoSing has happened in the past, but I'm pretty sure it happened way more frequently right after the whole twitter ploy happened. Besides, Marcan himself went out of his way to encourage people to deplatform kiwifarms. So would DDoSing not help in that favor? These pieces specifically went out to mention Kiwifarms and used Kiwifarm as a catalyst for the "suicide" which I feel is definitely worth sueing for. News Publications should be held to a higher standard in terms of what they say, because people are more likely to believe it, hence the excuses Marcan makes, saying there's articles about it.

That pickle rick funko looks like an especially gay butt plug.
Josh has mentioned this on podcast before. How would you even serve him the papers for court when he is hiding out in Asia as a complete shut in? What can he do? Pay someone to hide in a bowl of rice in case Byuu ventures out?

It may be worth your effort to consult with an attorney to see if you have a viable cause of action against anyone U.S.-based, namely U.S. News, Yahoo, or any entities that published the story, or if you can get attach a judgment against Byuu or Wayne Beckettt's U.S.-held assets, such as Byuu's house in Ohio, if he still actually owns it.
Couldn't Dear Feeder sue Hector?

The suicide rate among Americans is something around 13.5 per 100,000 and the number of Americans living in Tokyo is under 20,000, that would only be 2-3 suicides a year on average, although it's too small of a population to consistently reflect the national average. People claiming no suicides since May 2021 recorded means Byuu could have still killed himself are seriously coping. 1 suicide in a year is nothing out of the ordinary given the rate and population size.

uhhh he obviously just left japan before killing himself. checkmate, chuds
Absolutely, I guess that's why Hector was able to see the corpse in person after calling the Tokyo Police Department™ to let him into Byuu's appartment and show him around, and Wayne Becket somehow got a picture of the corpse provided by the same Tokyo Police Department™ despite having no next of kin relation with him and being in another country, even considering that police in Japan are such sick fucks to share around random corpse photos with randoms. Makes sense.

You're correct, and it really is worth reiterating this point for any Twitter lurkers or holdouts: observe that we're now arguing over 'hail mary' evidence that failed to materialize. That's the level of cope we're now at. That has been the pattern this entire time with this nonsense: what should be really easy to prove has been fumbled by these Twitter clowns for fucking 365 days straight now. We're being presented with increasingly flimsy evidence, and then asked to turn off our brains and not ask questions.

Questions like:
- "Hey if he's dead, why hasn't anyone close in his life (family, husband, etc) said anything? Why are we being told this happened by some NEET weirdo Internet friend he never met in person and some rando ex-employer?"
- "Why does the ex-employer have his urn, and why would he brag about it on a cyberbullying website?"
- "Why does the ex-employer have a photo of his corpse, and why was he bragging about it on a cyberbullying website?"
- "Why does Hector, whose friend is apparently dead and he'll never see them again, keep goading some random trolls on a cyberbullying website?"
- "Why does every article only link back to the anonymous google doc and some Twitter spastic talking about said google doc?"
- "Why are we being told to wait for some US bureau overseas death report instead of, you know, just being shown a death certificate or an obituary?"

I mean, it's downright embarrassing, really. You have to be actively performing mental gymnastics to convince yourself that Byuu is dead at this point, because it'd involve ignoring all of those questions, and just writing off the behavior of literally everyone involved (behavior that looks oddly like that of people faking a suicide for attention) as just some sort of coincidence. "Of course Wayne's not going to show you a picture of a corpse just to prove some silly Internet argument, you Kiwi trolls! What, you think just because he did that exact same thing with the urn picture yesterday that he'll do it with a more compelling piece of evidence?". "Of course Hector's going to keep dunking on the Kiwis who make fun of his dead friend, he's in mourning! You say that like you've never grieved the loss of a close friend by joyously goading the people you believe are responsible for his death."

Not only should there be a death certificate, but according to his emails to Null, Ginder had a considerable amount of money in the bank. There should be a probate case open in some court somewhere, probably wherever his family or ex lives.

Not a single news source or website has updated their information on Byuu. I'm not surprised, just disappointed.

In all honesty, if we have someone here who has an "in" with the gamer journoscum, I'd ask them to contact Kotaku and ask them about either a follow-up story or an addendum to their original story that indicates that such information may not be accurate. One of the journoscum that wrote about this must be interested in actual truth rather than just clickbait (*Optimistic Rainbow*)

In the decent universe that is parallel to this dark mirror universe, USA Today & other journoscum would hear from someone here about this new information and they would immediately do their best to either confirm it and say Byuu is alive, or find out the records were just crap and Byuu may indeed still be dead. Of course, we don't live in that universe.

My family members looked at me funny when something on TV said they expect the number of journalism grads to drop by 30-something% in the next 20 years and I said "HA!"

He has pronouns listed in the user page.
Y'all, the contributions of user Bilorv are toxic to Wikipedia's 2SLGBTQQIA+ community.

He's a fan of just about every major transphobic and ableist sitcom, including Rick and Morty, The Big Bang Theory, and the infamously heteronormative How I Met Your Mother. To top that, he created the page on "How Not to Be a Boy," a memoir by Robert Webb, a notorious transphobe and self identified gender-critical "feminist" whose book jacket has a blurb from Her Royal TERFness herself, J.K. Rowling. Bilorv also mentions Numberwang on his user page, a reference to That Mitchell and Webb Look, a racist, sexistic, and homophobic British Colonizer sketch show with multiple instances of blackface and Islamophobic cross-dressing. How can someone like this neutrally write about transfolx?

This Wikipedian laughs at the work of TERFy blackface-enjoyers while he squashes discussion on the life of trans* Byuu. It is a shame he was allowed to create the page on translesbian philosopher Abigail Thorn!

that was merely a cover story to give byuu the time to get out of the country safely and set up xir's new life in albania. now that the data is out there's no way to prevent

you know what, I started writing this and just straight up forgot that the main thing about this nigga is that he allegedly killed himself. lmao.
