I can't believe he's playing toy story 2. That's like a childhood game of mine, I'm sure he's probably going to make a complete fool of himself. It's not a hard game but it has a lot of the stuff he complains a lot about in it.

If Phil has a $7 stream, it might be momentarily bad but he has ammunition for the next stream. If Phil fakes a tip and turns a $7 stream into a $32 stream, it actually helps him less. "I only made 7 bucks yesterday!" sounds way sadder than "I made 32 bucks!"
Just look at the comment sections of dent-tractor channels like James the Lesser Express Lane though. They eat this shit up:

I think everyone here just goes a bit stir crazy when Phil is extra boring, which he has been lately.
The 1MM stuff is completely retarded though I agree. However Phil is getting that money, he does not benefit from the tips total looking higher. There's been a million times where he's withheld putting tips up as long as possible, and hell he even rounds down all of his tips. There is no way he's boosting the total, it simply doesn't fit with the fact he tries to make his income appear to be lower than it is in a million different ways. It just plain doesn't make sense.
EDIT: Also, if he did want to boost the tips to get closer to goals, he would probably use more convenient amounts he could literally make up on the spot, and make up different names that wouldn't be under daily scrutiny. Even just say an anonymous tipper yada yada. None of the "1MM is Phil" conjecture has any logical basis.

Hmmm. I guess that's a somewhat telling mindset. One would actually think that things like noticing donation trends and other patterns amongst the income he receives would be something considered integral to running one's own 'business' as opposed to just a thing that 'weirdos notice'. Phil, however, doesn't give any thought to what he made beyond the day that he made it, because none of it is budgeted in any long-term way. What he makes in a day, he spends, so the next day he simply needs 'more'.
He thinks it's very adult of him that he runs his own business and often says that people who work a traditional 9-5 job don't understand so many aspects of it (e.g. paying taxes, which he understands so well that he's managed to thoroughly fuck them up, probably for years to come).
What parts of running a business does he actually do though? He doesn't reinvest money into anything. He talks about getting new viewers and 'growing the channel', but he makes no actual effort to do something new or to change something old to make it more welcoming to anybody new. I'm just about 100% sure now that when he says 'grow the business' he literally just means 'you guys already watching give me more money'. He doesn't do anything to track his income or to understand anything about where it comes from in any detailed manner.
He thinks that something like POP's spreadsheets are 'mentally ill' when it's something that he should actually have been doing for the last decade. I'm sure that many big streamers who do what he does as a 'business' have similar tools and rely on them as part of being successful. That's probably being a 'sellout' though, according to Phil and means they're just all about *rubs fingers together* 'this'. It's MUCH more 'real' to just demand money from your viewers throughout your stream. I guess.

Phil is right about Seattle having a crime problem but I don't get why he even bothers whining about it. He doesn't have to commute there, he lives in a gated community in a suburb 11 miles away and does all his "day off" stuff in the surrounding suburban sprawl.
