General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

So when the girls do an off collab or even talking off stream, do you think they use their actual names or their character names? It would make more sense to use their real names but I feel that would increase the chance of a slip up on stream.
If you’re traveling hundreds of miles to meet coworkers you aren't using their stage names. The whole slip up thing im sure almost happens at times , but i can only a few cases early on where it happened, by now they all probably have the stream/off stream mindset set in stone.

Does that mean he was also Gura, because that would be pretty funny seeing him try to move and emote to her ramblings
I could be completely wrong, but didn't they all do their own dancing and singing? It seems to me that there'd be no reason for all of them to have actually flown out to Studio Ame if they just paid Kanauru to do even the mocap for them.
Oh so Kiara was there, that changes everything, than means she just didnt wanted to use her official 3D model for the concert (some of you were right). Weird decision but, eh.
Well, it wasn't a guess or insight, she has stated multiple times that she is waiting to do her 'proper' debut with it. None of the other girls seem to think the same way because I think they all see the Holo Fes as their 3D debut because it is. Just Kiara things, you know?
I'm going to completely ignore that haram bullshit with Vox and enjoy my Hag Love greatly.
You can make anything haram, just ask Iroha.

I'm pretty sure that Connor's been too busy sucking dicks with Ludwig recently.

If I was in their situation I would only ever call them by their vtuber name, unless we were in public. I think that during the Ame/Ina/Kronii/Fauna/Mumei Taco Bell outing one of the council girls almost called someone by their vtuber handle when they walked away. So I think that little piece of information could be used to suggest that they always refer to each other by the vtuber name even off stream. Maybe unless it's a special situation like Ina and Sana where they've known each other since before they were in this sphere.

On that note I wonder if Agnes goes by a nickname i find it super hard to imagine calling anyone under the age of 60 Agnes

Consider this extra layer of paranoia: use a completely different fake name in public to prevent anyone from recognizing the voices and hearing them address each other by their real names.

I can only speak for myself, but I went to a minor gaming LAN many years back. In game and during matches we called each other by our gaming handles but in our free time we tried to use our real names. It felt more natural that way. It's kinda similar.

You guys do realize all of it was prerecorded and it still doesn't change the fact that Kiara doesn't have a setup that works well with the 3d model, right? She assumedly got to the US like 3 hours before the stream based on her tweets, and I don't think there would have been anywhere near enough time to get her set up in studio Ame properly to do it.

I agree that Kiara didn't do the mocap, but as you can see, she was the only one represented by her smol model. The others though? There doesn't seem to be any reason to doubt that they did the mocap by themselves, especially Gura who went all the way to visit Ame.

Seems to be they are trying again.

Miko listening to Sana is hilarious (sorry, IDK why there is no audio):

I love this. Even without audio you can see the dawning horror on Miko's face.

It's crazy in a special way. For a long time, most ID VTubers have always just pandered hard to the EN fanbase. At least, that's what we can observe from the HoloID branch. Hell, even NijiID's most popular members had mostly EN fanbases like Hana and Mika (could be wrong on this one though. Judging it from the clips I've watched of them)
But Kobo getting this fast while having an abnormally high viewership of mostly domestic fans, even compared to most big EN VTubers, might actually encourage ID VTubers to consider pandering to their domestic fanbase too. Or maybe Kobo's personality is just that special and most ID VTubers can't replicate the same appeals that she has. Not really sure why and how she's growing this fast either. I don't watch her at all.

Call me a schizo but I do actually think the ID girls are numberfagging behind the scenes and are looking for ways to try and understand Kobo's appeal. If Ollie's leaked membersonly post a month ago or so was to imply anything, it's that Ollie and at least a few ID members are confused and grew a bit insecure. Not that I think they should. If there's anything worse than tribe vs tribe numberfagging, it's numberfagging within the same agency and the same branch.
I do get the impression the IDs are trying things that they normally wouldn't without Kobo there. I have no concrete basis for that impression, just things like their game choices and using more Indonesian on their solo streams (though they still primarily use English). I don't think there's anything wrong with experimenting for its own sake though. If they do feel insecure - they shouldn't, but that's also normal.

Lui's 3D is blocked by SME worldwide lol
EDIT: According to an anon on /vt/, they expected it and said so in the stream's description. Supposedly it has to be blocked and appealed first.
Lui expected it at least. She talked about it on her drinking stream a few days ago and also tried to explain in English, though obviously with less detail.

Cutting down Yagoo in her 3D debut was a portent.

Watching the Gura concert from earlier and while model clipping's always going to be an issue with more elaborate productions like this, it seems Ame's model in particular is scuffed as fuck, the jacket keeps clipping through the rest of the outfit. I'm surprised they didn't at least pick camera angles that'd obscure the worst of it.
The clipping on Ame was fairly bad and noticeable. But one thing that I imagine Kanauru actually fixed on Ame's model is her jiggle physics. I'm sure it's just the vertex weights that were messed up, which is how he was probably able to fix it fairly easily. But it's completely fucked up that her official model is still fucked up considering it's just a simple hotfix. But who knows, maybe they only recently fixed it, but I know Ame's last stream where she used her 3D model still had them flopping everywhere.

Gura's sleeves are still shit though, especially compared to Botan and Marine.

I'm going out on a limb and guess this is from a Calli stream?

According to the nyfco site those were from 2017, so yeah, a nothingburger. It is kinda crazy how Pomu's page went from almost no info, to having more than most on the site. It even has over 2k comnets on there. Not even her twin (Kiara) is that popular only 16 comments.
Her page is an autistic war between 4chan-esque shitposts calling her a slut and reddit tier comments calling her queen and everyone incels. If only you could harness that raw autism and turn it into energy the world would be set for decades to come.

I think Cover does like 3D fitting or something in their studio to clean up models. I assume Myth don't look as good because they haven't really fine-tuned the models around the talents.
Forgot about that part, fucking Sana lmao. That collab was really a fun one.
