Redditors across multiple subs fuming about this "closed for Juneteenth sign", trying to get the business shut down by review bombing, spamming their contact info, and contacting all of their affiliates/parent company.

Google has already removed the hundreds of 1-star "reviews" people posted but a lot of them weren't even talking about the sign, they were making up cartoonishly outrageous stories. It's now been picked up by local and national news outlets. The town council has released a statement condemning the sign and emphasizing how important the end of slavery is to, I don't know, all those black people living in Maine? The sign has been taken down.

The thing is. A lot of black people do celebrate Juneteenth by eating friend chicken and collard greens. The reason the stereotype exists is because they're soul food and as such are a traditional part of the celebration for many families. If you google how to celebrate Juneteenth or what to eat, you get major publications like Parade and Today saying...fried chicken and collard greens.

Well, honestly not surprised it was a local white girl who took a photo and leaked it to the net. Given how the North East like Maine or Vermont are majority white states I wonder if any of them have ever seen a black man.

Also the left have been pushing Juneteenth as a holiday for all black people. As such anyone who makes fun of it will be seen as an reactionary racists.

Rip TiA. I had a lot of good times there shitting on retards back when snowflake bullshit was contained to the internet.

Ever since the TERFs invaded it has been a totally different place, but still was a nice reminder that even reddit wasn't as insane 10 years ago as it is today.
Yeah honestly once it just became TERF central, it wasn't nearly as good. Lots of dumb ugly women posting obvious satirical trans accounts and losing their mind, repeating the same exact talking points you see in every comment section at ovarit, etc. It would have been nice to keep it around for archive purposes but the last few months have been mostly dogshit

But also it being banned is just making it more and more obvious to people how far this woke shit is going. One of the more popular subreddits that's been around for 10+ years suddenly gets the axe for not conforming to reddit's bullshit? People notice this and will not respond by bending the knee

>try to make a thread on reddit
>automod slaps it down in 30 seconds because too many topics already exist on this apparently

Fucking Christ reddit I'm just trying to use your dead gay site why are you making this so difficult? I can't even imagine how these people with 30k karma manage to go so long without torquing off some random janny and getting banned.

Well. They just banned r/TumblrInAction and r/SocialJusticeInAction. Shame, TiA was kind of like KF-lite and one of the few places left for LGBs to have a T-free space. I expect r/askgaybros to go next
Just came here to write this. Had screenshots I was going to post. Againsthatesubreddits is doing their stupid crab dance. Fucking swine unfit for life--all of them.

They probably are the jannies. If not literally (as in socking) then surely figuratively in terms of political opinions/misanthropy/gutlessness/etc.
The number of socks or weird mods just ruling over their retarded fief is staggering now. I don't see this kind've dedication from people doing their life's work and it's all for internet points.

When did SRD turn retarded? I remember they used to mock those kinds of subreddits, like the predecessor of AHS ShitRedditSays, which was constantly mocked for being crybullies.

TiA survived a lot longer than I thought it would. But why the ban now? There hasn't been any big "hate wave" event on reddit unless if you count the recent troon swimming ban discussions.
The mods are saying that troons are sacred cows, can't even mention them in any way or any place which could lead to someone getting offended so they banned all the subs which allowed discussion but didn't fellate them.

Am I the only one who feels like redditors are wrong here rating her YTA? How could she have known she'd have to bury one of them with her stillborn son and keep the other one he would have had when graduating to remember him by? All these redditors in the comments are vomiting their mental problems and deep seated insecurities about being adopted. Maybe she could create a new tradition with her adopted daughter? And I don't feel like it was a purposeful thing to make the daughter feel bad.

AITA for not giving my adopted daughter a stuffed animal for her high school graduation, when both of my biological children got one?

renderTimingPixel.png

I [49f] have 3 children, [22f], [19m], and [18f]. My oldest are my biological children from a previous marriage, and my youngest I became a mother to at the age of 2 when I married her widowed father. She has only ever called me mom, and I officially adopted her at the age of 12.
Now on to the issue with the stuffed animals: years and years ago, when I was only 20 and in college, I worked at a children's museum. I adored the job and working with kids, and had the idea to buy stuffed animals from the gift shop to be my future-kids' first stuffed animals whenever they were born. I had gotten a stuffed bear at birth that was very special to me growing up, and on my 18th birthday my parents gifted me a duplicate they had bought way back when and kept for me all these years. I found this so special, and wanted to do something similar, so I bought 6 stuffed animals from the museum's gift shop; 3 to be given at birth, and 3 duplicates. I had no idea at the time how many kids I would have, but I knew I wasn't planning on having more than 3, so I didn't get any more.
My first daughter received the stuffed animal I selected for her while pregnant. Then, between her birth and the birth of my son, I miscarried. The experience was deeply traumatic for me, especially as I miscarried in my second trimester, and I buried my baby with the stuffed animal they would have gotten. I kept the duplicate to for comfort, to cuddle and hold. Finally, my son was born and received the last of the stuffed animals I had set aside so many years ago. Now, here's where I may be the asshole. For both my daughter and son's high school graduations, I surprised them with the duplicates, for them to take to college with them and compare against the stuffies they've been loving on their whole lives. Both were very moved by this, and took both (original and duplicate) to school with them. My youngest, however, never received a stuffed animal, and so when her graduation celebration rolled along I had no duplicate to gift her. I watched her unpack all her gifts, and her face fall when she got to the last one and realized. She didn't really say anything, just got this super sad look on her face, and excused herself to her room. I followed to ask what was wrong, but she said she didn't want to talk to me, so her father went in instead. According to him she cried to him that she didn't feel as loved by me as her siblings, and as much a part of the family - the unwrapping of her siblings' stuffed animals were very emotional events, and she had had the expectation she'd be getting the same. In hindsight I could have easily done something similar for her whenever I first came into her life, even if it wouldn't have been from the museum, but I just didn't think of it. She has been cold to me this entire last week, and I feel so terrible, I've offered to take her out to a special dinner the two of us to make amends but she turned me down. AITA?
Edit: the votes are in, and I am definitively TA. Many of you are suggesting that I get her a stuffie that reminds me of her, or maybe to get her two so she can continue the tradition with her future kids. But I think what I will do is gift her the duplicate my parents gifted me of my special plush bear I received at birth, which is one of my most treasured possessions, and deeply meaningful to me. Thank you all for the advice, it is genuinely appreciated.

If they do ever achieve their IPO, the amount of negative press will be immense. They won't be able to be so opaque about literally everything if they're publicly traded. And then they're going to lose their shit because all the bad press will make them cry. All that crying will result in even less steady leadership, and that's going to be a mess.

All it's going to take for reddit to truly die is for a competitor to arise. And all a competitor needs to do is not appeal solely to one extreme or the other.

You raise an excellent point. We heard of them preparing for an IPO a year ago. When it comes to the business world, that is a LIFETIME.

Most globohomo corporations barely even look past the next quarter. It's all about short-term returns to shareholders, and slightly more profits compared to the same quarter a year ago.

Some shitstain social media company run by pedos taking over a year to go public indicates there is a problem. After all, all the spokespedos at Reddit have talked the company up and said how well-placed they are to face the future, but they cant even get listed?

I think the company is doing way worse then they say they are, and potential venture capitalists and investors know this.

After the absolute freefall that most social media companies went into after their IPO, I can't see why anyone would invest at the valued price. Anyone interested in buying reddit stock will buy the dip after they tank below the IPO rate.

It would be a hoot if Elon Musk waits for the dip and then buys plebbit at a deep discount.

The mask falls even further off in this snippet. Many are simply stating they want to ban whatever they disagree with....

Why do people gather together to do incredible amounts of research on one person to ruin people's lives over making a racist joke, but do fuckall when it comes to actual injustice? Then when their victim's are penniless and jobless, they celebrate and think they're the heroes of the story.

They want to be evil, without looking like they're the bad guys in the situation
