Inactive Nick Bate / Nickalaus B. Stoutzenberger - (Thread 3: JUDGEMENT DAY)

Huh, the result's in.

Lawfags what does aquittal nolle prosequi even mean? Is he going to prison?

Here's the likely scenario: the prosecution could've put Nick away for 5 years (or some other "light" conviction) but decided putting in a nolle prosequi plea before the trial is over means "I could get you for five years but if I back out now, I can get better, damning evidence and put you away for ten years."

Basically, this is the legal way of backing out of a prosecution but keeping the door open to come back to it. Double jeopardy doesn't apply here, so to me it sounds like Nick is going to get shafted even worse if karma plays its hand.

I guess AO pulled out so it sounds like he's getting aquitted unless she changes her mind again.

Welp, Nick goes free I guess.

Goes free but it's sort of "borrowed time". The state can come back at any point and reopen the trial and use prior evidence.

As satisfying as it would be to hear Nick getting thrown into a chaingang for life, what this tells me is that the prosecution wants to nail him once and for all and not just give him a slap on the wrist.

To bring it back from shitville, I just got off the phone with the Court.

They advised that due to the involvement of a minor, the case (i.e. access to court filings) is closed to the public. I tried to sleaze my way to find out what the Order dealt with but no such luck. Said as minor involved, nothing would be divulged.

So, no luck on that end. Sorry.
I called the court administrator and, as far as she knows, the trial hasn't been closed to the public.

I think that may be related to transcripts and other stuff. Either way, the verdict will be revealed on the docket and all Kiwis can rest assured Nick is up a creek.

80% of the posts in this thread are awful, aloggy, &/or deserve all the late ratings. If I weren't on my phone, I would delete them. Stop shitting up this thread or it's going to get locked again.

To ensure everything I said checked out, I just went on a massive doc search through the Sarlacc Monster's public diarrhea that some traditionally call "social media accounts."

As for your first question, @Plague, the eval's been confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt. I couldn't find how it got posted, or even -- though Bate obviously had something to do with the leak -- who posted it. But on his Ask.fm page alonee, Bate confirms the eval is his at least five times, all of which I've capped for posterity:

Actually, the loony-bin trip you're thinking of happened in 2014. Bate tweeted about it when he came in, and got out:

Then wrote a Livejournal post about the whole thing:

There's also his Twitter activity to keep in mind. In the entire month of May 2013, which is when he had the eval, he never shuts the fuck up. But when his 2014-Super-Bowl-Week institutionalization came about, he went dark, which he never fucking does unless he's forcefully deprived from Internet access.

It's hard keeping all this depravity straight, and I blame no one for making the occasional detail mistake on this matter. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go find a more pleasurable activity than combing through Nick Bate's garbage. Maybe I'll pull my pubic hairs out with a set of wooden tweezers.

I got the psych evaluation from him. He emailed it to me after I asked him about it on twitter :ween:

This quote doesn't sit well with me, but I totally fail to summon any kind of empathy for Bates at all.

Not trying to backseat moderate. But I made a new thread
https://kiwifarms.net/threads/what-will-happen-to-nick-bate.16745/

Because posting a thread were you can vote on how just much complete and utter agony you want Nick to die in is really going to sort out the A-Logging problem going on in this thread..

Personally I think FFS has already done an excellent job deleting the most offensive posts and posting a stern warning. Ultimately when Nick is sentenced this thread will die within the next month or so anyway, there's literally nothing to discuss when he goes down so in my completely unbiased opinion I think here is fine for now.

I'd expect Nick to be convicted and sentenced by the end of this week, he loses all relevancy when he's behind bars anyway.

It may just hibernate. There's a possibility, that he does some kinda antics in jail (I'm not sure, how long of a shot it would be for these antics to came to the attention of the press), will be, in coupla years, maybe considered for relaxed jail conditions or even a shorter sentence, he could die in prison (no, this is no a-logging), his parole conditions after he would've done his time and so on. The thread isn't dead when he isn't.

It wouldn't be a terrible idea to lock this thread except for a couple designated posters or a mod who would actually be available at times relevant to the trial. If that's not possible, though, it seems like it would make more sense just to keep it open while actual legal proceedings are going on, and just do a sweep for shitposts to delete once or twice a day.
