Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

so I can see him returning with Black Mara as his apprentice.
Considering they already used Black Chewbacca for Book of Bob, Filoni using Disney's Black Mara as Windu's cuck daughter feels like the next appropriate dumbass step.

Plenty of room for growth, adaptations, updated art reprints and so much more, and all they can think about is milking Filoni Wars, High Republic and faggifying anything from the legacy era. Oh well, at least I don't have to hear about how Disney made Marka Ragnos and Simus secret gay lovers who only fought each other out of love, or about how Ulic was actually a proud non-binary trans shwoman all along or that he was a bald loser who everyone hated and was utterly useless unless he had a an oversized amazonian doing all the work for him who had the last name of Tano.

The shows' treatment of injury that should be fatal as little more than an inconvenience for characters the moment it becomes necessary to the plot is setting a very bad precedent for the franchise, I accepted it in the case of Maul as he ended up being one of the few good parts of TCW for me and his character was actually rather entertaining to follow compared to the rest of Filoni's originals, save a few standouts.
Darth Maul's resurrection is what set the precedent; this show is just following it. Bringing back Maul never made sense, as he was cut in half and then both of those halves fell into a plasma reactor. You can't come back from that, but they brought him back anyway, got a good reception, and now death is meaningless because you can survive fatal wounds or even the complete annihilation of your body.

When you think about it. The entire arc of Obi-Wan from the first episode to the final. Will come down to getting Own to let Luke have that toy speeder.

He already said in Episode 1 he plans and wants to train Luke. So any arc of not giving up hasn't really gone anywhere. It's not like he goes and joins the Rebels or anything. He just sits around on Tatooine waiting to train Luke. Which is what he was doing in Episode 1.

Does anyone have the despecialized edition of the original trilogy in 1080p or know where to find it? All the links on the web are fucking trash or lead to grifters.
I forget if it's 1080 or 720 but iirc Archive has some instant copies

I know Rian Johnson poisoned the "muh themes" well, but what was the theme of ANH? Faith. One of many problems is that modern storytellers don't actually have faith and can't convey it. So when it comes time to write TFA, the scenes lack that element. What does Rey learn really? That the Force is a superpower--not a reflection of her morality. It doesn't feel like a progression of events like the OT was because the POV character isn't actually learning much of anything. She certainly doesn't become a better person at the end of it.

TLJ seems like the closest to conveying the absence of faith, but because what passes for deep is ironic hipster, it doesn't work either using the one character who already had true faith at that point. That's why RLM insists that TLJ tries to be interesting, It's still completely wrong for Luke (might've worked for Han though), especially when all the failures are self-inflicted so no one is deserving of respect.

TRoS doesn't qualify as a movie. A movie is a series of scenes placed together in a sequence. I doubt it meets that criterion.
You can't actually expect people to convincingly write themes and messages if they don't believe in them themselves, on top of not being able to understand them in the first place. They literally just copied the OT without understanding why they made the choices in those movies. "ANH did this, so we did it too." It's insincere. Rey never struggles or learns anything. She closes her eyes and becomes a Jedi master. She fails to redeem Kylo Ren but it doesn't matter because that was never anything she was motivated to do. Nothing matters.

Plot twist, Luke walks in on this chick fucking a black guy with a bigger dick than him.

I think that TLJ has poisoned the well for film critique full stop. Aside from being a litmus test for a film reviewer's ideological bent, the film has basically destroyed the idea of analysis deeper than the purely mechanical as the defenders apparent insistence that the film's themes save it has poisoned the well for that style of analysis for most of the more mainsteam critics, whilst the people who have opinions closer to my own either view it as beneath them to review (don't blame 'em) or are too passionate (read: autistic) to make a level headed review and instead devolve into angry fanboy ranting where they half-shout into their microphones to make a point that, however good it was, is drowned by their stunning immaturity. Also the film's themes are muddied and inconsistent but that's another argument that's doubtlessly been seen on this thread before so I'll stop now.
These illustrations are really fucking uncanny. I know there were almost certainly traced for the sake of speed, but after reading some of the classic Marvel stuff with actually good artists this shit is just insulting.

I'm fine with Maul's revival if only for the fact that it gave TCW a villain who wasn't an inconsequencial joke, and nuMaul is easily Filoni's finest creation.

Amazing how many cowards will act like this is normal. The bait and switch they've been doing for almost 10 year now is so obvious, from Star Wars to Star Trek, they promise you something about an old character but it's some "woke" bullshit.
I know its long dead and its been nearing 5 years but man still to this day I loathe The Last Jedi. The film is aggressively one of the biggest fuck yous in film history being an example of almost everything wrong with modern filmmaking these days. Even if we were to disregard all the character and lore breaking shit in the film what exists in abundance, what else are we left with?

The fact it started with a "Yo Mama" joke in 2017 was already a sign this film was unsalvagable. It's a film that has some of the worst pacing, tone, and character consistency that's received a major budget. It's also way too long where one could have trimmed 45 minutes off of the film and likely would have been more serviceable.

It makes me wonder why Disney is so obsessed with turning all their franchises into female-centric films and projects when they've already clamped down the girl, teenie bopper, and teenage girl market through mainline disney and tv shows? The funniest thing about all this shit is that I haven't seen one little girl talk about Rey or any female star wars character even though these characters are aimed at them. It takes the cake for me how you could misunderstand the core audience of a franchise or genre so bad that you take Star Wars from an event film towards direct to video schlock.
To put it simply, it's all social engineering and trying to twist culture.
While TLJ was shit and the biggest fuck you they could make, Rian didn't have much else to do that would make sense. Yes, he COULD have made a better film, but TLJ is a great follow up for the shit JJ did. JJ hit the body with his car, Rian helped him toss it over the bridge. TROS is JJ putting cement shoes on the body and tossing it in the ocean. Never let people push the lie that Rian ruined the potential JJ made for the ST.

Star Wars died the moment JJ with his "Mystery Box" bullshit twisted George's ST ideas.
The account emphasizing "Wars" in the IP's name indicates to me that those now in charge of the franchise are utilizing this particular quote from Chairman Mao:

Given the fact that the left-wing has been winning over pop culture for decades, they clearly want to hold onto that control forever.
This is why you NEED gatekeepers for culture and "fandoms". These people will pretend to be fans like you then take over and kick YOU out.
This thread has been miserable and sad long enough. I bring a gift from the past!

The last 3 episodes of Kenobi were when they made it a "star" vehicle for that rotten Reva character and they gave her the face turn. That was the plan from the onset but they didn't have the guts to just do something new so they shoehorned OT moneymakers into it to softly introduce people to her.
They are pretending to be insane enough to give this two-bit character her very own show (again!) and I don't know if I want that to be like Rian Johnson "totally" getting another core Star Wars movie to direct or if I want to see a few episodes to laugh at it.

Black Mara

Good thing I was always more of a Callista Ming guy. People like to (correctly) point out Filoni's unhealthy lust for Ahsoka, but can people really not remember how much Zahn blatantly lusted after Mara Jade?

I hate that we lost the Old Republic stories for this mediocre trash.

Fun fact, Disney didn't actually kill the EU entirely. There's one source of EU lore still active, still sponsored by Disney... and it's Star Wars: The Old Republic. I like it because the Jedi Knight is voiced by Solid Snake and there's a button to make him Snake scream, and you can push it pretty much whenever you want. If it had been single player people would have considered it the best KOTOR game, I think. Not just for the Solid Snake thing.

Ooo, bad.

The Kenobi Reva & Leia series finale was just like the rest of the season: a shit show.
The Rematch of the Century™ was poorly choreographed and taking place - once again - during the night so the lame cinematography is more fucked up by the LED sabers.
I'm sure RedditLetterMedia loved it because Lucas would never have greenlighted that crap.

And then that entire place that happened on blew the fuck up.

Counter point, Mara Jade was of legal age and a deadly red head assassin, worth lusting over by any red blooded heterosexual male. Ahsoka was an annoying teen (and a good friend) for most of her existence who would only be lusted over by lolicons.
