Christ, they literally pulled the "its a flesh wound" card with The Grand Inquisitor
"see?! I told you all it would make sense!"
yeah, nice one, TGI is alive but now you just fucked the consistency of lightsabers silly because are you telling me that, no joke, Reva SOMEHOW stabbed him in a non fatal manner in the correct spot and, by some massive luck, didnt go for the head or double tapped him (which, you know, the force should show you that person aint dead but whatever). Same goes for youngling Reva...is this series suggesting seriously that NO ONE, NEITHER ANAKIN OR CLONE, decided to double tap?
I feel like Reva was the result of an idea, what if a youngling survived and came back for Vader? It IS an interesting idea but one that breaches canon the way they executed it because there is no way that Anakin would leave any survivors if he knew of their existence. He is VERY competent at his craft and missions.
Reva is a fuck up of a character. She is inconsistently evil and now we are suppose to recontextualize everything with her as a good guy.
No, she is a broken crazed woman that mercilessly killed innocents and is no way any better than Vader...and her plan to find Obi-Wan to bring Vader out...and then having the guts of asking "Where you were?!" to him...it all solidifies she is crazy and emotionally broken, blaming Obi-Wan for shit he had no control over.
And now what? The leaks have been basically proven right at this point. We know Reva will go after Luke either to get revenge on Obi-Wan or maybe she will find out somehow Luke is Vader's son so killing him would "indirectly" hurt him. I dont know, its clear that she is a mad dog.
It doesnt make any sense why she would return to Vader to report Obi-wan to be dead.
Unless that part was false or altered during production. Maybe what we got was an early concept and changes were made because I cant see Reva realistically returning to Vader, trying to do the "obi-wan's dead" routine with a straight face after she legit tempted to murder both Vader and TGI. Vader wouldnt kill her for lying (that would be obvious), it would be for the reasons I mentioned.
So Reva will probably survive and thats where her series comes in. Lucasfilms are a lot of things, unpredictable isnt one of them
The future sight reasoning works for Anakin because his mother was still a slave at the time and Tattoine is a dangerous place by nature.
Sidious was the one making those visions, they werent future seeing, they were makeshift visions of things that he intended to craft into reality. His mother's death wasnt destined to happen but Sideous was hard at work at guaranteeing it that it would.
So the future really isnt set in SW (at least according to OT and PT rules)
Everyone misses Batman's point to be edgy or lolironic about him not killing the joker. Its not that he's supposed to be moral or w/e, its that he doesn't believe in power over life and death being concentrated in one person. He just stops the criminals, delivers them to the police, and its up to society to decide what to do with them. And the answer is universally "send them to arkham, learn absolutely nothing".
The fact the Joker still draws breath is a failing on the society Batman lives in, not the Batman.
This
I legit dont get WHY people think its Batman's job to kill the joker. It is not. And will never be.
Super Heroes shouldnt kill, they are servants of society, not its enforcers.
What Batman is doing is already pretty damn illegal, adding killing into the mix would make the people see him as no different than criminals.
Batman and other heroes want to build a world where they arent required.
The Joker is simply one of the biggest suspensions of disbelief in fiction, we gotta believe the joker is somehow extremely famous in universe and he somehow hasnt been executed or someone he took everything from hasnt shot the clown in the head, not caring about the legal consequences.
I think a problem with The Joker is the fact he gets away with borderline terrorists acts with a "insanity" plea excuse which can only "realistically (for comic book standards)" get you so far. Many other Batman villains tend to have significantly smaller operations that focus on more actual crimes (like Black Mask, Riddler and etc). Others have crimes more focused on Batman only (like Ras'al Ghul and Bane).
The Joker, however, always focused on the biggest body count because to him everything is meaningless, including his victims. He is AWARE that it is wrong, he simply doesnt care. How come no lawyer threw that card to send him to the electric chair Robot Chicken styled surprises me.
We throw "clown world" around but I think Batman might literally live in a Clown World.
