  • This could be an important one. Wayne sent someone on Github a message after his RetroFreak product was accused of a license violation for including code from the Snes9x emulator. If Byuu was ever working for Wayne, it was probably on this or a similar product. Also - if you check the archive link, the person who's posting the message is "Twinaphex". I recognize that name as one of the RetroArch developers who Byuu had drama with, and Marcan also seems to hate his guts. I don't know the significance of all this, but I smell gayops afoot.

I originally thought Wayne Beckett was merely a loose associate of Byuu's and probably a hapless boomer who was either tricked into supporting the fake suicide or was impersonated by Byuu/Marcan. But now I'm leaning more towards him being intimately involved, motivated by some obscure emulation developer drama behind the scenes. Just IMO...

Yeah, I'm not totally ruling out the impersonation theory. Normally you would assume that the journalist talking to "Wayne Beckett" for a big story would verify that he is who he says he is (and that he's a reliable source), but unfortunately I don't have much confidence in Alia Dastagir.

The main reason why I think impersonation is unlikely is because then Byuu/Marcan would have to hope that the real Wayne never hears about it and decide to come forward to correct the record. As sloppy as Byuu/Marcan were with this hoax, I feel like that would be a step too far even for them.

I haven't actively researched this since last year so I've forgotten a lot, but the name, the picture, etc. It was all supplied to us by byuu himself, apparently, so maybe it's all part of his gayops to erase his history and start a new life with a new identity?

Byuu can act stupid sometimes but he's definitely smarter than most cows. I wouldn't think he'd give us his real name if a new start is what he's after since that makes him more trackable than ever.

I'm sure I'm an autist and this can all be completely verified, but I wanted to be sure we aren't chasing down a red herring.
