General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

TTRPG update: Calli has everything prepared for it and is hoping to be able to have the finale be done during the off-collab but she's gonna try and read the room and see how everyone feels about it. Hopefully it happens, everyone being in the same room should bring the energy levels up quite a bit and Calli put a lot of work into the series.

Do you happen to know what they like in Vtubers, or at least who their favorites are? It wouldn't be easy to recommend things based on nothing but presumably a personality as riveting as "me like tribe A/B".
My bad. The holofag said her oshi was ina and fauna. Gave me the impression that he liked soft and comfy vtubers. Nijisanji has their comfy chuubas but idk what clips to drag them to it.
The nijifag likes Kuzuha, Kanae, and Selen. Probably a gamer fag, but I don't really know who among in Hololive are hardcore semi pro gamers other than Aqua and Towa.
I saw Depressed Nousagi in the chat

Sorry for double posting, I prefer not to post too close to each other but I felt this warrants its own post
Edit: was informed that the song gets released when it hits 12 AM on the 24th in your area. I'm in JST so it's out here already. If you can't view the video, just wait it out.

Luxiem project apparently got leaked by YouTube topics (again) and it unfortunately isn't a costume or 3D.

It's another jazz-type original song. Producer info and all that not included, but expect a music video of sorts tomorrow during the official release.
Here's the full song.

Some thoughts:
- It's not as catchy as Hope In The Dark. As expected, the non-singers sound like they're struggling so much to sing, especially Mysta who's been auto-tuned to hell and thrown onto the chorus mainly (I like him in the rap, he should do that more instead of singing) and Vox who's been thrown at the very back again. And like HITD, it's a Ike-Shu centered song with Luca getting a decent amount of lines too; there's also some motifs present from HITD particularly the intro and the very faint jazz-y rhythm at the back.

Overall, it's fine. Not catchy though, tbh. Feels a bit cluttered.

Would be fun, always more fun with roleplaying games when you are in the same room and can see each others reactions.

I also shared a similar reaction. I liked Hope in the Dark. I liked this one too sort of but not as much. Ike and Shu definitely deserved to be the main singers of the song, especially considering that Ike is probably the best singer in the group. Honestly, a little underwhelming for the hype they built up. I'm hoping the MV will at least look good.

Also holy shit. The Korone Sonic the Hedgehog thing was real Lmfao. That's hilarious.

Bro, sitting on your computer for 6 hours every other day, playing videogames, and printing free money is really hard.
People doing twelve hour shifts in manual labor or retail, for like 500-600$ a month have it really easy, because they don't get called a tranny online.

If it's that bad, I could take over Zen's model and struggle in their place. I'm sure wagie life is so much easier than being a cute anime girl and getting paid.

It's the fault for 2view saviors like myself. I sub in hope that others will also sub and more people will watch the talents. I don't have time to watch all my 2 views and continue to be subbed to people I won't watch out of a misguided sense of loyalty.
I know that feel, bro. But i'm using multidex and lot of browser tabs. Even if I can't watch them all, maybe youtube will count my views.

I'm not sure why you're angry over this. It was accepted months ago that this is out of Cover's hands and that Amelia was gonna have to put things together herself. Cover doesn't have the expense to build studios everywhere, and the country is such a clusterfuck with foreigners that just flying them over wasn't an option.

Calm the fuck down.
except he's not wrong. no one is asking cover to open a branch or a whole studio anywhere, people are well aware how unfeasible that would be. as for the whole "we've discussed this months ago already" - a) this isn't months ago, things are constantly in flux b) gura just hit 4 million subs. at some point it gets silly. even if nothing would change and japan's immigration is still a bitch this is also something that was known months ago. MUH CONTRACTORS is funny, because it's just as well an argument for cover to get off their ass and find a solution abroad for one fucking 3d stream. cover can't even pull the whole "well, schedules and stuff" excuse when myth manages to do an off-collab just fine on their own.

do you honestly wanna tell me cover can't look at the current state in early 2022, write 5 of their talents "we want you all in one spot in late spring/summer, please fit it in your schedule" months in advance, then rent a studio for a day or two and record the whole thing to be done with it? don't forget they would milk the shit out of it anyway and it would rain SCs, so the whole "but it's expeeeeeeeeeeensive waaaaah" nailbiting wouldn't apply either.

* Pure speculation on my part, but I believe the reason why big corpos are still on last-gen VR centric 3D tracking is more of a cost issue than anything else.
corpos get often called cheap, but lot of people miss they simply have different requirements which are not relevant or less of an issue for the average consumer. usually reliability and long term planning > buying the newest fancy gadgets. it's one of the reasons they're willing to pay premium for "professional grade" to be used for years. plus if it works it works, no point spending more money "again" (besides r&d). consumers are just gonna buy a replacement because goldfish memory and price > all.

however, regarding niggerrigging something for a 3d stream - it's not a live production, you can pre-record it and do as many takes and fixes as needed. besides, it's a moot point when ame is literally doing that. if cover would give a shit about quality or level of production they would find a way to do it themselves, but they obviously don't.

also something people missed: cover isn't the only one with talent abroad. there's nothing keeping yagoo from picking up the phone, call his niji-equivalent and ask for splitting the cost to have lazulight and obsydia do their anniversary as well. they're also big enough to ask for sponsors, which would make said expensive equipment cheaper if not outright free. fuck, they could even do one big collab event to stream afterwards just because (or at least guest appearances, JP does it all the time) to really rake in the cash from both holo- AND nijifags.

On the whole Amelia/NA studio thing, is there a reason we are outright assuming in this discussion that Cover is definitely not helping in any way whatsoever?
one word: irys.
they can't even do 3d for talent IN THE FUCKING COUNTRY. which makes the whole "muh japanese immigration, please understand" thing even more laughable.

Late replies because living in the EU timezone is a curse among this hobby. But I have finally caught up with all the stuff in the last 20 hours or so. Woo

Also loving Laplus calling out all the fags to the recent event she had when her roommate knocked on her door, thinking it was a boyfriend. Honestly watch the clip it's proper gold, just straight up lays it all out.
>teeth clicking
>desk punching
>rage
fuck man, that video made me miss the pettan necromancer like you wouldn't believe, annoyed rushia was always best rushia.

second on EU, I'm on EU schedule atm keeping me asleep during all the pippa and lumi streams good shit. otoh perfect time to watch nunki, so there's that

Missed the live. Was the cat artist the same as Pippa's current mom? Also, Pippa rejecting this and become a bunny is too funny cause didn't she say as Yuni she would never be a rabbit?
meanwhile we got pipcat pippa recently...

Found an interesting music theory analysis of Suisei's "Still Still Stellar" album

Watch it if you are a music nerd, or if you just want to see someone experience Stellar Stellar for the first time and then click away
I really love her music breakdowns. You should watch the one she did for every King cover and how going by the way the person sang, basically nailed the personality of each one.

Pippa did mention that there was a lot of noise and thought one of her rabbits got out of her cage this evening. Rabbits are known for dropping dead.
F to the Yabbit's dog.

I hope she takes a break and not stream to cope.

My personal rrat is her rabbit fucking died. (:_(
Let's hope she sticks to the plan of taking a break and she also doesn't go back to her old habits.
That was my original thought about the rabbit since she talked about them making a ton of noise during the stream and later in the tweet where she mentions that she "missed it" because she was streaming. If they are outside maybe a fox broke into the pen and killed/took one of the rabbits. Just hope she doesn't blame herself over it (which she will because that's how she is).

Hmm yeah she's not an employee and she hasn't been here long enough for permanent residence. Clearly she's on a spouse visa via the welshman.
Talking about him, I think the TrashTaste people have mentioned how it has been easy for them to deal with the whole japan thing because they are technically working for BookWalker. So this is why they have been able to travel more freely than most of the HoloEN girls.

On another note, on some random discord server, I managed to do the herculean task of convincing both a Holofag and Nijifag to give both tribes a chance.
What clips or songs do you recommend that's gonna leave a good impression?
What do they like? Are they coomers? Do they like lewd shit? Do they like kusogakis? I find that when it comes to clips, Nijisanji has the most chaotic collabs and clips like this highlight it (without getting into coomer territory). There are also good clips like the Seffyna custom TTS and people using it to say weird shit.

For Hololive gaming:
Calli speedrunning Getting Over It
Botan 1v3 against Choco, Luna and Subaru on Call of Duty
Botan laugh compilation
Suisei playing Tetris

Nijisanji comfy:
Millie has a few ASMR streams
Enna doing the Higurashi concert
Anyting with Rosemi (dont really know much about their JP side)
Chima doing karaoke

Abyssal Zone just dropped , debut song of Nornis, a musical unit comprised of Inui Toko, Machita Chima, and Asahina Akane.

Honestly glad Toko and Chima are doing more stuff together, don't know much about Akane but the song sounds really pretty and they seem very promising. As for Abyssal Zone, the animation and story's very very good, reminds me a bit of Houseki no Kuni. Looking forward to more songs!

One thing that hasn't been mentioned here, and wasn't noted on their new website, is that Nornis is signed on with Universal Music Group.

With Melissa graduated, there was an open spot in Nijisanji's 'Big Three' and I think Ako is a very appropriate person to fit the bill. I'm very happy for her, given that the Selejo girls were not given a lot of marketing and had to work extra hard to acquire their fanbase. Ako is drastically underappreciated for her singing and usually gets 300-400 viewers per stream, so big ups to the company for getting her signed on with a major record label when they could have just as easily put a 'big name' in there.

meanwhile Vshojo "I think I'm going to take this week off to spend the money from my whaling simps, even though I don't stream every day."
To be fair Zentreya has had a rough go of things recently - where they're at in Texas is currently having a pretty severe heatwave and half the electronics in Zen's house have blown out, including the AC. His last stream felt pretty fucking miserable all-in-all between the heat and a number of fuckups that happened throughout the day, so I don't think it's too much to blow of some steam since they've been going pretty hard since the cyberZen redebut.
There's plenty to bitch about regarding Vshojo's talents but complaining about a week long break from what is otherwise a pretty consistent streamer feels like a reach.
Pardon my ignorance, but why is Connor being featured as a part of VShojo? I don't recall him as being an 'official' member. Are they insinuating IronMouse can't stand alone as an entertainer?
Speculation on my part, but I'd assume so they can have someone physically present at the con? Q&A with Mouse via Gunrun's backpack setup alone doesn't feel like it will cut it for a bigger con.
