It's honestly a shame that yesterday's decision wasn't ruling the NFA (or really any other bullshit federal restrictions on firearms) a gross violation of Constitutional rights. RvW had become pretty low on the list of what should be prioritized for me, but I'm glad it happened because it definitely drowned the graboids out.
With that said, I think anybody aligned with the democrats should be looking at their own politicians instead of fuming at the SC. There's a ridiculously defeatist attitude among them.
This kind of reaction might be warranted for a blanket federal ban on abortion. The reality is that the Supreme Court overturned a decision that even RBG realized would not last.
 Democrats had ample opportunity (hell, there was even an advance warning when this decision was being drafted) to actually make a framework for legal abortion at a federal level, but they were perfectly happy with using the shaky foundations in order to harvest votes.
It's not even too late to legalize it federally. However, they seem hellbent on trying to force a bill with absolutely zero restrictions through.
Instead of bitching on twitter and bemoaning how America is now Handmaiden's Tale or whatever the fuck fetish material is the talking point of the week, these people should be talking to democrat politicians to not go full pants on head retarded and try and make a bill that involves some level of compromise.

Democrats need to start looking at which of their candidates win in swing states instead of wondering why their woke candidates lose and acting like AOC and Ilhan Omar could win if they weren’t running in uncontested districts.

Winners:
-bringing down housing costs at local level using zoning laws
-expanding parental leave
-strengthening organized labor
-free healthcare
-taxing the ultra wealthy at the same rate as the middle class
-de-militarizing the police
-sex ed in schools that isn’t abstinence only

Losers:
-trans rights
-affirmative action/reparations
-black lives matter
-defunding the police
-critical race theory and lgbt education for kids

Its scary to see the political speech on both spectrums slowly getting more and more violent as time has gone by these 6-7 years. Political violence is the beginning of the end for political institutions like the US. It won't be an overthrow of the government, the US will still exist, but the government we know today isn't going to function the same way it does tomorrow. And I mean radically different for better or for worse.
Actually, a good idea if you want to keep them from voting republican. Burn their livelihoods so they have to live on government subsidies and vote dem to get more in the future.
OR, you know, just maybe, they move into cities and make it a worse place to live than they already are. Why do modern progressives like to hate the little man and not the people who actually cause most of the problems in the country?

It can never amount to anything past 4 word chants and a few damaged buildings. There are no list of demands, no cohesive, and effective tactics to counter the police, and no coordination about movements. Even the campout at the capitol was just uninvited boomers walking in between the red velvet rope.

The Arab spring, Orange Revolution, HK protests, Yellow Vests, and Japs chimping out at Narita got their shit together. Hell even the Mexican women rioting were more effective than any American movement in the past several decades. How come this is the case? Just do it right already FFS.

Wouldn't common sense laws still allow free-range abortions but LIMIT them based on the trimester of the woman's womb? That would've been a promising compromise.

The common sense approach is the one most European states have, which is during the first trimester for on demand, and restricted afterward, but that is not what the pro abortion lobby is demanding, they want abortion right up until you can give birth, and after. Which is murder, plain and simple, and its my understanding they refused to compromise on that the last go around, and that's why there's no federal legislation.
