Why do you oppose Wyoming's laws being made by people who live in Wyoming instead of people who live in New York?
Way to miss the point there, dude. You couldn't have missed it harder if you tried.

He said the majority of people are anti-abortion and then used a map, based on land mass and not populaton, to back it up. There's a gigantic difference there. Please, learn context.

Your own fucking source shows the majority supports some abortion restrictions. The NPR thing just shows that who they polled don't understand what the Supreme Court ruling does.
I said they were against overturning RvW. Learn to read, dude.

I'm going by observable, factual reality. You're posting fictional nonsense. I understand this is hard for you to grasp as your NPC programming keeps saying "fundies bad" but damn nigga, how can you be so deluded in face of overwhelming evidence?
Except you're not, at all. I literally showed you why it's wrong and you just double down and refuse to admit reality. And it's double ironic the guy who believes whatever /pol/ tells him to is calling someone else a NPC.

I got a work call in 5 minutes. Enjoy your morning, folks.

No, you're the one missing the point. All the Supreme Court said is that each state gets to make their own abortion laws and that a federal one-size-fits-all approach is not appropriate.

You should really take a break from the internet, lol. Why so angry? Did your favorite OnlyFans e-thot hike up her rates or something?

Just pay more attention to the details and try to observe facts, you'll figure it out sooner or later. No one cares about RvW except for some angry terminally online internet losers.
Again, you are going by land mass. That's saying that Wyoming would be worth more than NY, despite having 5% of the population. That's not how this works at all. Please, look up how votes are counted by totals instead of by land mass. I have a work call in a few minutes, so please do that while I have this call and maybe you'll finally learn something

That wasn't what I was saying in that post at all and you know it.

He said that because the map showed more land mass had restrictive abortion laws, that meant the majority of Americans are anti-abortion. That's not how "majority" works. Polls say otherwise, too

I said they were against overturning RvW. Learn to read, dude.
And I said they don't understand what that means because they poll favorably for the results of overturning, dude.

Who gives a shit if what the court does is popular anyway? That's not their job. Roe v Wade was horseshit, legally, and relied on all the fundie shit you rail against.
It was all about "the quickening" and "ensoulment" and "emenations and penumbras".

This is a problem for the Gay Old Party, because they were hoping to tease voters about ending Roe v Wade for the next 50 years. It's a problem for the Dems, because fat women screaming angrily about bloody coat hangers isn't gonna be very popular in the middle of an economic crisis. It's good news for babies tho :smug:
I think a major factor is that if you were already a diehard 'must abort my infants' voter, you were already showing up every year for democrats. They can't really squeeze more votes out of the perpetually outraged social libs because they already have all that vote already. Most of the people who vote based on abortion vote for the GOP because they hate it.

This won't move the needle either way. Especially since the people most likely to be outraged already live in states where it will... continue to be legal. Because that's what roe v wade being overturned did - returned it to the states.

I get that you have a problem with states making their own decisions on abortion based on what the majority of the people in that state want, but too bad. One crooked poll does not show that the majority of the American people care about RvW.

I think these protests really hurt them. When people get to see the crazies who agree with them on these things and their behavior it makes a few question their own beliefs. The pro-life crowd only has their beliefs about these loons reinforced.

Republicans get to saunter into the mid-term kerfuffle with an activated base that got what it wanted and is happy to vote to ensure it stays that way. It's going to be a slaughter, I can't wait.

Also, brace yourself for a comical transfer of wealth as all these libs sell their recently purchased homes at a HUGE loss when they flee all the purple states that won't let them chop up their unborn anymore. That might even be the real reason we got RvW overturned in the first place, Texas went purple and it scared the shit out of the entire party. No better way to chase libs out than to deny them the freedom to be a filthy degenerate, I suppose.

Good point. May have to get another place in Texas... just need to air it out, stinks like liberal.

I doubt it'll happen because Sinema and Manchin will be against it. They hold an equality in the senate, so they'd need every Dem on board to do it and Sinema and Manchin often vote Republican.

Maybe things will change after November but I doubt it. And again, polls have said that RvW being overturned is very unpopular. Why can't you guys just admit you're in the minority?
It would be very Dem "strategy" to deliberately fail to pass something protecting abortion at the federal level, by letting them filibuster it, in the hopes that this makes them look bad enough people give them the heave-ho, never mind that impotence is never particularly inspiring.

Dems are shockingly lazy when it comes to doing what needs to be done here if they care about the issue, which is immediately protect it where it is already the law, while looking for really bad laws in other states that still won't withstand scrutiny, because some batch of hicks is probably going to be emboldened enough to go way too far.

I disagree. They know if they codify abortion into fedral law then the pro-abortion fear money dries up and their largest militant activist groups suddenly have no reason to exist any more. They need the controversy a lot more than they need a solution to the controversy.

I’m loving this outcome because it puts the onus on Congress to do something instead of relying on the executive and judicial to do it for them. They either need to work on passing something or just leave it to states. It’s actually why I don’t really like Congress that much because they’re lazy no matter who is in charge. They tend to blame SCOTUS or the executive branch for when things go wrong.
