Moreover it wasn’t just Jews who were murdered
Sorry no that’s bullshit. For a number of reasons there have been these attempts at rejigging the Holocaust into applying to a number of groups, but this is just as revisionist as denying it.
Nazi policies towards Jews varied at different times (and different places), and seemed at least partly influenced by the military situation. But ultimately around 1941 it took a turn towards elimination. As the only group.
False. Nazi policies towards Roma was a fairly pragmatic one, and not wholly eliminationist as towards the Jews.
Roma that would let themselves be integrated (as in: Move into permanent settlements, contribute to the economy) were mostly left alone.
You didn’t see people hauled out of work and sent to a concentration camp because their parents happened to be Roma.
Some Roma were sent to concentration camps yes, primarily Roma who wouldn’t integrate and held on to their traditional lifestyle. That’s not the same kind of eliminationist policy that was applied to the Jews.
Also false: Where did much of the leadership of East Germany come from? Along with the Moscow Germans, many of them came from concentration camps.
The fact that some of them had been in the concentration camp system (a system meant to isolate “harmful” individuals and in some cases “reform” them. NOT to physically exterminate them.)
since 1933, shows that there wasn’t a policy in place to exterminate political prisoners. Like there was with Jews.
(Did some political opponents get shot? Sure, both communists and Nazis. That was the exception rather than the rule though.)
Russian prisoners of war,
Also false. In fact: Survival rates of German POW’s is similar to the survival rate of Soviet POWs. (Around 30-40%)
Sure, the Eastern Front was an extremely brutal theater of war.
And chances of both German and Russian POWs to survive weren’t great. That was a result of the circumstances though, and not the result of a deliberate policy decision. (Like the Holocaust.)
Thanks to war and British and American blockades there was a food shortage in Europe
in general in 1941/42. Food was rationed throughout the continent.
There simply wasn’t ressources to deal with a sudden influx of millions of Soviet POWs. Just like the Red Army in many cases didn’t have the ressources to deal with German POWs.
POWs were used as slave labor by both sides, but again: That’s not the same as the Holocaust. Which was specifically directed against Jews.
and other “undesirables” were killed in that way;
Also false. If you were a repeat sex offender: Homosexual for example, you might end up with a 5 year long concentration camp sentence along with other repeat offenders such as burglars or robbers.
That was far from a death sentence though, as the numerous cases of people surviving a decade or more in the KZ system shows. (Despite the fact that the worsening war situation meant increased death rates in concentration camps.)
If you were a homosexual who didn’t break the law though, nobody would show up and haul you off to Dachau.
Like they would if you were a Jew (and not vital to the war effort.)
Holocaust was exclusive to Jews. Stop twisting facts and turning it into some general Nazi evil nonsense, that is just as revisionist as denying that it happened.
11 million people (and that’s a low-ball estimate, since the Nazis didn’t pay that much attention the exact number of children they gassed (or killed in other ways) -
Absolute nonsense.
How on earth would you even gas all those people, when regular concentration camps didn’t even have gas chambers? (Dachau was one of the exceptions, and had a small gas chamber that was never used for mass extermination:
https://www.holocaust.cz/en/history/concentration-camps-and-ghettos/dachau-2/)
This is SIX GORILLION tier nonsense.
. The Holocaust is one of those facts.
So why are you lying about it?
The Holocaust was (around) six million Jews.
Stop throwing everyone else who ever died of anything during the war into that pile, it’s ahistorical and disgraceful.
