Capitol Police Chief Sund wanted the National Guard for the January 6th rally, he was told to go see the DC National Guard General Walker. General Walker told Sund he needed authorization and was told to go talk to Senate Sergeant at Arms Stenger and House Sergeant at Arms Irving. These two report directly to Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, Stenger and Irving both rejected Sund's request.

People have been predicting the "end times" since for fucking ever. It didn't happen back then, it's not going to happen now, and it won't happen in the future either unless someone correctly predicts the precise day when the sun heating up renders the planet uninhabitable to mammals like us.

What we are living through is a period of disturbance, unrest(economic and social) and general trouble caused by a whole mess of factors that are ultimately reversible. Keep your chin up, we've had weirdos like the one in your post in the past and we'll continue to have them in the future, we just need to keep them away from the levers of power as much as we possibly can.

To be a bit less vague post:
There are three types of cases that SCOTUS has been historically incredibly reluctant to rule on in any sort of major way. This is not to say no SCOTUS bench has ever ruled on them, but they are very rare and usually define any given bench of SCOTUS judges.

1st: Any decision which sees multiple states having to completely redo or throw out their laws.
2nd: Any decision which undoes major settled precedent, especially if said precedent has been used in other cases.
3rd: Any decision which sees a major curtailment or change in the power of the other two branches of government.

Keep in mind, these kinds of decision usually -define- a bench, you see one of them with any specific group of judges and then nothing until several retire or leave. And yet, within a week we have had the first and second ruled on and done. And a potential example of the third being on this very docket which we are waiting on. If they rule on all three it says outright this SCOTUS -does not give a fuck- and will make whatever ruling it damn well pleases, and if you have a problem with it you can go pound sand.


That has never occurred in the history of the United States.

It's amazing how threatening a man and his family makes him get even. At the very least this double whammy is a big warning for the dems to back the fuck off.

The main takeaway from Thomas revisiting Obergefell, Griswold, and Lawrence v Texas is more erasing the legal underpinning behind those decisions (SDP) than at actually going after those areas socially. I doubt any such case will actually be brought up though, primarily because these positions of gay marriage, contraception, and legal homosexuality are sufficiently popular that no state would ever even consider going against them.

Unfortunately, the liberal voter is so stupid that they're easily swayed by demagogues who argue that Thomas's position is more aimed at hyper social conservativism than an attempt to get rid of one of the worst judicial frameworks that ever existed.
