Two 8-month-old pit bulls that were loose in Nanaimo attacked several children, severely injuring at least one. Other people that came to aid the children were also injured.

The children were playing in a yard at the house of one of their friends. The dogs were from somewhere else in the neighborhood and had been cited for being at large previously.

One of the owners of the dogs came and got the dogs but did not stick around. The news interviewed the other owner, a Dangerhair that looked to be in her late 40s or early 50s. While she was devastated at what her dogs had done, she said to the reporter, "People are saying, look at this from the prospective of a parent, well, these dogs are my kids, too," and then she broke down crying.

It was later reported both dogs were euthanized, as there have been other incidents prior to this one, and due to the severity of the injuries the one particular child sustained.

To the dangerhair dog owner I would have to say, "If these dogs were your KIDS, you did a lousy job of raising them. Thank heavens you didn't spawn any of your own."

"Officers say the dogs’ owner is cooperating with the investigation, and the three dogs are believed to be a North American Pitbull terrier mix, a North American Staffordshire mix and an American Pitbull."
Damn shame really, other articles say she was attacked while gardening and was spry for her age.

These stories coupled with the impending birth of my child are really pushing me to want to get a CCW in case one of these beasts gets anywhere near my family.
If you live somewhere you can get a CCW it's 100% worth it. I've drawn mine 3 times with intent/need to use it, and twice were with pitbulls, and once with a nigger (which is basically the same thing)

OFFICIALLY MAD IRL! Or, the story of how I went chav hunting barefoot with a cricket bat...

My man just took our dog for evening walkies. On leash. "Staffie" ie British shitbull charged up, latched onto my dog's neck. Man (soft-hearted dumbass) used his arm instead of his boot to separate them, got shredded. Owner (tattooed moron) stomped my dog while fatass gf filmed it and screeched that my dog (big but nervous rescue) should be fookin muzzled and she's calling the polis. (Sidebar, why do trash people love calling shit in??)

Hence barefoot outing and exchange of strong words. And a police report cos unfortunately in britland if you don't get in first with a calm middle class account of incident they never leave you alone. I don't really mind the dog nonsense, but the owners need euthanising. And my sweet nervous dog is hiding under the table and will need weeks of remedial socialisation.

The man accused of owning dogs that maimed a Honea Path woman will be tried in General Sessions Court.

During a preliminary hearing Thursday, Magistrate Carolyn Brownlee ruled there was enough evidence for Justin Minor to face charges of owning a dangerous animal that attacked and injured a human, rabies control violation and dangerous animal not permitted beyond premises unless restrained.

Kyleen Waltman, 39, lost both arms from injuries sustained when three dogs — two pit bulls and a mixed breed — attacked her March 21. She has been hospitalized ever since a neighbor found her on the side of a road.

He fired a pistol to scare off the dogs as they attacked her, biting her all over her body.

Minor, who lives near where the attack took place, was arrested and charged shortly afterward. He has been free on a $15,000 bond.

The owning a dangerous animal charge carries a penalty of $5,000 or a sentence of three years in prison. All the charges are misdemeanors.

Abbeville County investigator Jeffrey Hines testified Minor told investigators they could euthanize the dogs, which he wanted to do after they killed his chickens, but his wife said no, Fox Carolina reported.

Hines said deputies responded to another dog attack on Minor’s property in December, the television station reported, and multiple dogs roamed the property on the day Waltman was attacked.

The dogs involved in the attack were euthanized.

Waltman, a mother and recent grandmother who worked as a cook in a local diner, has endured multiple surgeries as doctors have fought infections throughout her body and tried to repair a damaged shoulder to allow for a prosthesis.

More infection in her shoulder this week caused doubt about whether she will be able to use a prosthesis, her sister Amy Wynne said on her gofundme page.

Wynne said on the gofundme page Wednesday that Waltman’s doctors removed more of her shoulder bone after they found infection.

Waltman has been in and out of consciousness, but Wynne said her sister is now fully aware of what has happened to her.

Sympathy for Waltman has come from all over the country as people have read news stories about her. Her gofundme page has raised nearly $230,000 for her medical bills so far.

One man from Columbia said on Waltman’s Facebook page, “This is the most brutal dog attack I believe I’ve ever heard of.”

A woman from Massachusetts responded to him, saying “The physical part is overwhelming. I can’t begin to imagine the mental part she will have to endure. This is going to be a long tough road for a girl who was just minding her own business and living her life.”

Followup: SC woman who lost arms after dog mauling struggling to get Medicaid benefits, prostheses

A Honea Path woman whose arms were amputated after a dog attack is having trouble getting prostheses due to problems with obtaining Medicaid benefits, her family said.

Kyleen Waltman was attacked by three dogs in March and has endured more than a dozen surgeries.

Her sister, Amy Wynne, said in a gofundme post that Waltman “has been through a lot since she’s been home.”

“Mama has taken her to pick out her hands and then gets a phone call telling her (Mama) that Kyleen can’t get her prostheses because she has no insurance. I mean you knew that when you allowed her to pick her hands out. It has been one disappointment after another.”

She said her sister is handling her circumstances “but you can tell it’s taking its toll on her. Our Mom does not know where to go from here because she’s worried if she says something, it’ll be another blow to Kyleen’s mental state.”

She said the family has faced one obstacle after another.

“She is so ready to get new arms,” Wynne said. “What do you do or say when you’ve tried everything to get her some and you can’t. No one expects to have appendages you’ve had all your life just get took from you.”

Waltman was bitten over her entire body and has battled a number of infections. The two pit bulls and a mixed breed that attacked her were euthanized and their owner has been charged.

Justin Minor, who lives on the road where the attack took place, was arrested and charged with three counts of owning a dangerous animal that attacked and injured a human, rabies control violation and dangerous animal not permitted beyond premises unless restrained. All are misdemeanors.

He was freed on a $15,000 bond.

The owning a dangerous animal charge carries a penalty of $5,000 or a sentence of three years in prison.

Waltman was released from the hospital in mid-May.

so where did the attack take place? on the street or on property?

Fuck off, Nutter. You and your autistic, anectdotal bullshit means absolutlely nothing in the face of pure facts. Raised around dogs my entire life. Was a vegan for years. And STILL I would never let a potentially dangerous animal/beast around the vulnerable or let it "off the hook" because I personally knew one that was a "coward." Ffs.

You are the reason little babies, the elderly, postal workers, store employees, and fucking innocent bystanders are mauled or killed by these mutants that we have created.

You know what a pittbull is, right? A genetically modified hound that was once used to take down fucking BULLS, for fuck's sake. They feel no fucking pain, either. And this is why when you try to subdue one that is in the middle of mauling or killing a person or animal it's nearly impossible. Takes about a dozen stabs or shots.

Fuck off forever. Call me MATI if you want. I will die on this fucking hill before I'll let another Nutter try to gaslight me about these beasts. May as well allow crocodiles and fucking tigers around the general public while we're at it!
