Conrad Aaron Collins / Diginée / Digibro / Digibrony / Otaku Gonzo Journalism & the Pro Crastinators Podcast - Pedophile, Two-Faced Weeaboo Ponyfag Youtube Analyst Who Wants to be a Loli + Drama, Friends & Enemies

I’m eagerly waiting to see Digi’s opinion on Roe v. Wade being overturned while adding in an anime reference to it and using it to talk about the pros and cons of abortion.
Has he talked about politics at all since his transition? I remember him being open to social benefits that would give directly to him, but I was under the assumption that he leaned right because Daddy Dick is a Trump Supporter?

We're going on 2 1/2 years of Digitroon and I still have a hard time understanding why he went full fuck the audience when he trooned out. He had a very cozy 60k a year income and just flushed it down the toilet. Anime fans are pretty damn accepting of trans people and Digi easily could have maintained the 5000 a month he was getting for his videos as a troon. He could have made his shitty wigger music and put it on one of his dozen side channels and been fine. All his fanbase wanted is analytical videos about nerdy stuff he's passionate about.

To be fair a lot of Digi's audience was like Digi himself. Even though he was hated on 4chan/a/ (like pretty much all e-celebs) it goes to show that a lot of Digi fans were/are of the mentality and attitude of 4chan, like myself. So it's not strange to see the aversion from the fanbase.

By the time he trooned out his review output had declined a lot and the 5k Patreon was mostly propped up by the rants, which he hated doing and left him even less time for anime reviews. The only reason why he's posting more now is that the threat of destitution is finally lighting a fire under his ass.

Weed

Or to be perfectly accurate: turning recreational use into habitual use. Never good to make drugs or alcohol part of your identity instead of you know; something fun to have once in a while.
Having someone back his dream of being a rapper and encouraging him must have also contributed. Finding new 'friends' sounds great when none of your current friends are walking the stoner lifestyle and riding your ass about finishing your work. "Weed actually boosts creativity for me" - Digi. We see how that held up.
My last post more so referred to the amount of people dropping him the instant or soon after he dressed up in goth and changed his name to Digi-nee.

This show was the shit back in '07. I came in a little later but hot damn Anime was never this good again. Those were the days.
I remember liking it back then, but I tried watching it a while back again and it's not as good as it was. It's still fine for a light humor show, but there's just better stuff out there now.

Give me recs. If you say that My Senpai is Annoying is better than Lucky Star I'm gonna pop a vessel here.

My Senpai is Annoying is a masterpiece, and you just don't understand comedy.

Though really there are a bunch of options out there, I like ones that play it straight but know they're goofy like Black Lagoon and Durarara. The Genius Prince's Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt is ok too but I just started watching it so it might end up sucking.

If you just want a comedy one someone recently recommended and is ok was Love, Chinubya, and Other Delusions but the ending sucked. Dungeon Black Company was pretty funny too but it had too much pedo shit that was annoying.

Saw all of those.

Black Lagoon = Masterpiece
Durarara = Was great until S2 then sucked in the end
Tensai Ouji = Ehhhh....
Chuunibyou = S2 sucked, movie was a cashgrab
Meikyuu Black = Had potential but didn't live up to expectations

Well, then you agree some of them are better. As for my thoughts

Durarara X2 really stumbled around but I think it had enough fun stuff in it.

Genius Prince has good characters, King Gruyere and the like. Some of the shit they pull out to make the main character look smart does come off a bit retarded but whatever, part of the joke is he bumble fucks his way to victory while also being smart.

Chunibyo was pretty good for me until the ending, and I'm not sure if the last episode I saw was season 2 or 1 but they should have ended it with them on the beach and when she says the lights are just boats and don't matter he should have responded with something like "They might just be the lights of the boats, but they're still beautiful." and just had her grow up in a healthy way instead of reverting back to delusion or leaving her as a depressed husk. I think that was still season 1 but it felt like they just tossed the development out the window because they wanted to make more shit to cash in.

I liked Black Company but probably because I find the premise fun and like that they can have a character who is an asshole and greedy come out on top and make things better for others. I don't think that would ever happen in modern Western Media, plus some of the jokes like him coming back and just enslaving the people who thought he was the prophesized savior was kind of funny.

Digi almost sounds like Shmorky in the beginning of the gwenpool video.
Too Many Games sounds really fun - I think I'll go there in the future.
Oh god he kinda does but it's nowhere near the levels of "lazy town stingy IRL" shmorky's voice is.

Also yeah if you're in the general vicinity of Pennsylvania or the states close to it and you get tickets when they're cheaper (if they still do that I literally did it last minute this year cause I didn't know they cancelled) it's a generally good time, hopefully prices on used games go down again at some point in the future making attending it kinda a boon again. I'm pretty sure there's a few events like this all over the US it's kinda like those computer show things but specifically for video games.

In addition to what others here have said, I think he got a bit lazy with his anime content, and a bit jealous of other anime Youtubers who went further than him due to work ethic, ability to form and maintain connections, etc, which ended up pushing him into picking a lot of fights. This was ages ago but back during the whole Digibro after Dark phase he made some video which was him basically just acting pissy at other anime youtubers. Frankly he wasn't entirely wrong, but it came off as desperate and I can see why that kind of jealousy would drive him away from the community as a whole.

Here is 2020 in full and 2021 in full.

As there was so discussion about the reason of the decline of Conrad's fanbase started by @Deathfromabove: In this picture the vertical line is roughly where he announced his trooning out.

patreon2.png

The number of patrons (orange) clearly and immediately took a hit. People left at a faster rate immediately afterwards but he was losing them before already. So while the trooning is visible, the graph does not say "The people left because Conrad was trooning out."

He was bleeding money before too (green) and here you can't even see his trooning in the graph which would admittedly be hard as the decline was so steep for a few months in any case. But you can extract the raw data from the graphtreon page and no matter how I look at it you can fit it well and in good faith with a straight line going down steeply from about late January 2020 up until the end of August when the loss in money and patrons decelerated again. And his trooning is somewhere in the middle.

So it seems the big contributors at least who determine the green line were mostly unfazed by the trooning, meaning: they were jumping ship around that time anyway. That happened for a variety of interdependent reasons, like not delivering on the rants, May, weed, and the general sperg-out during that time. That seems to be at least the consensus here. However, the trooning apparently did scare away the minor contributors faster than Conrad had scared them away before though even here this was only one factor among the others.

Heh, I rarely give people money because most arn't worth it and I don't have a lot of it but to be perfectly honest, the most I ever spent on Digi was $4. For the four episodes he did with Mumkey on Insufferable Social Media Argument Podcast. Never funded a radcon. Never patroned him. And in the end I'm glad I didn't, even though it felt like freeloading sometimes.
