I don't think Phil understands that he is old now and that a 40 year old man shaved ape showing up to a gamer convention without kids is extremely sus and cringe.
Nah, that's his ego still riding 4th Place EVO to this day. He always plays his rep the way it suits him in any given moment - sure, he claims to be small time but simultaneously he still will insist he's a big fish when it matters.

If Phil would go on tour, there's no Khet or anyone would help him from the behind. Unfortunately, they would most of the time do the laundry and clean up Phil's dirty trails from his room and everywhere, especially his clothes.
And of course, he indeed, begs for bucks on tour like a desperate hog in its cage.
He'd probably end up putting his glasses, hat and vest on a paywall in addition to pay-per-question.

This whole Keemstar thing seemed weird to me, and I think I finally understand why. DSP is just about the only person Keemstar can punch down on. Yeah, Keemstar has a lot of money, but he's just as big of a loser as Phil.

Keemstar is a laughing stock among youtubers and his entire fanbase is a bunch of 12 year olds retards. He ruined more than a few lives with unconfirmed drama shit, and even before Dramaalert he was some turbovirgin dipshit who trolled people in the same way Phil did: badly.

Yeah, Phil is on level 1. And Keemstar used cheats in a multiplayer game (catering to kids with fake drama shit) which makes him seem really good on the leaderboard (has a lot of material shit), but in reality he's still just a sad little gnome.

But don't get me wrong, this battle of Who-is-the-biggest-loseroo is entertaining and no matter who wins, some useless waste of space is gonna get his ego bruised.
I think you should tip DSP $100 today, that would really own the detractors!
He'd probably tell his dents that he needs them to give $2000 to recoup the losses of not streaming.
I hope they do! That would own the detractors so hard!

There is 0 chance of Phil going to a physical convention. Anyone who's been following him for some time knows this.

So why did he post it?

My guess is his rebuttal to this moderately popular post on his subreddit /r/dspdiscussion4. Note 14 hours ago.

It calls him out perfectly, here's one comment..

6 hours ago he brings out his tweet, to LARP as someone who isn't a social retard and self imposed hermit.

This is pure speculation on my part, but I think the convention idea might be Phil fishing for a hotel staycation. He'll do the usual Phil think where he promises content, but instead of recording live at the con he'll just talk about it during his prestream. Maybe record a generic video vaguely talking about the event. He won't actually waddle around the convention much, let alone potentially interact with people. So, what does he get out of it? An excuse to stay in a hotel room, presumably after raising an absurd amount of money for the trip because he thinks traveling to a con is such a rare experience his dents will be too stupid to question the total.

The only vague evidence to potentially support this is Phil mentioning being unable to take Khet on a honeymoon again, and just being reminded of how much time Phil spent in the hotel room during his tournament days. Plus, it's something he did with Leanna, and Phil isn't known for being original.

This kinda falls apart with the panel option because that would get in the way with him ordering room service and staying locked in the hotel watching 80's movies. The only explanation I have is Phil always seems to include needless options in his poll, and seems especially fond of "yes 1" "yes 2" "no" polls. This is even more speculation, but maybe he does it so he can say the yes votes won even if no gets more options because the votes were split, and if you exclude the troll votes, it just so happens to be whatever result Phil wanted overwhelmingly won.

At the very least, I think we can all agree there's no way he actually wants to go to a convention, let alone host a panel.

All I will say is that it is absolutely like Phil to go to a hotel to do exactly what he does at home. I can very easily see him scurrying away somewhere to pay $200 a night to sleep in a clean bed and play Champions and order DoorDash.

Watching Phil continuously utterly ruin chances and opportunities to grow and advance and get out of his rut fills me with genuine frustration because many people never get those chances at all.
doesn't phil still make north of 80 grand a year?
plus some other tips and donations behind the scenes?
honestly, if he just stopped wasting his money on stupid shit, he'd be okay.
heck, if phil saved his money starting from his prime youtube day's he'd probably have about 2 million or more by now. he could literally just retire.
