This kind of shit is more common than you'd think actually, people can more easily get away with filming this kind of depraved shit in these countries because everything is much more readily avaible, and you're less likely to get caught for it. Daisy's Destruction, a video series described to have just about the same level of depravity as these videos, was made possible because it was easier for Scully to abduct and groom children and teens on the streets in the Phillpines than it was in Australia, plus he was less likely to get caught, considering just how often children go missing there in the first place.

With that said: It makes sense to me that so many of us have stumbled onto these videos, or similar. I would hazard a guess that most of us have spent time on the chans at one point or another, probably other gore or shock sites by proxy. It's the nature of this communities existence, really.

What I have trouble with is how many "normal" people seem involved. It's SO widespread and so many of the comments seem tied to "normal" people. I suppose what really troubles me is how this highlights the fact that we cannot assume people's deviance. I always knew that, but these people are in public- theoretically not hiding: open and disgustingly honest. I dont need to imagine what they do behind anonymity.

EDIT: I posted on an empty stomach. I am against everything they're doing. I can't handle the subject matter well so I skimmed a bit and missed more crucial information such as abusing baby monkeys in their care. I mostly wanted to explain a perspective on the wild videos. Not the baby torture vids or anything, but just the ones about a team of guys who basically create a soap drama about the misfortunes of a pack. But these videos aren’t doing anything to cull their numbers, sterilise or relocate them in a useful or efficient way. In fact, they’re probably making it worse since many of the monkeys in the OP seem to have been bred as pets. It’s just pure sadism. There’s a sick focus on the infants who can’t do anything to defend themselves.

The rat comparison is a pretty good one. They’re both pest animals that cause a lot of destruction. However, they’re also smart, social species which can definitely feel pain. Nothing deserves this fetishistic level of brutality.

I'm not trying to normalize it. That wasn't my intent, I was told by people who go there that everyone hates those monkeys. If I was wrong I apologize, but the stories I heard painted a different picture to me that they're - for lack of a better word - aloof to macaques when shit happens to them.

And people do torture raccoons and shit. People that deal with them constantly don't care much for them either. I hate them learning they like to bait dogs into water to drown them, like it's a game. Not sure if they're that intelligent, but typically the stories I heard from people who live on lakes they'd swear raccoons did that shit like how coyotes use females to bait dogs in order to kill them or goad a dog into playing but leading them to the pack to be eaten.
