While I think it's pretty fucked to confiscate the food of people working your con to force them to pay exorbitant prices for your shitty con food, if you black out from the effects of not eating for 12 hours you probably have diabetes or some other severe medical condition. Normal, healthy humans can fast for 24 hours easily without any ill effects. There are plenty of people who eat once a day as their regular diet.

It's hard to tell who is in the right in these situations, because while cons do sometimes treat artists like shit, artists are also massive divas and will make mountains out of molehills.

Over here especially when i travel to a tokyo collectors shop they do stock hololive merch idk if they've bought them in or been given permission but the stuff is easy to find. A bunch of stores have the Subaru duck plushie for sale.

I have worked at conventions before and it's usually like that. Since I worked doing setup I would usually work the night before and sneak in food without much issue (when you are staff the Convention Center security doesn't give a shit). Also, there usually are vending machines with snacks and drinks at the cargo area.

Sellers usually dont know that and would have to do one of the following:
1. Hide food and snacks inside their merch
2. Pay for the shitty-overpriced food
3. Ask a friend to fill in for them while they go out and buy something at the nearest fast food.

Often there are sponsors at the convention that have snacks or samples at their booth and I would usually pick a few and hand them out to the sellers

Looks like Anime Cons in the US need to learn from how Indonesian do it. Here in every cons/expos there are always an area reserved for F&B vendors so people can buy fresh food during the event. Most of the time it's Japanese food like Ramen or Curry to fit the theming, but sometimes you get outlier that really add the extra festivity. I once went to a local con where there's a jolly Indian/Arab guy selling Dosa at his stall
