Neither country is really all that stable itself. Plenty of their own problems. Why can't Russia or China offer stability?
No really I'm actually asking. Can they fill that void in any respect?
Lack of strong navy, trade is done by the sea, if you can't protect the sea lanes then trade becomes difficult. Why can't Russia or China offer stability?

Doesn't surprise me, given that schools seem hellbent on sticking things into children.Posted it in the Happenings thread, but in case you though the Dems were going to learn anything (HA!) , New York City will mandate vaccines for children to attend school in the Fall.
If there was any chance of a Republican governor in November, the Dems are determined to make people pissed enough to do it.
Global power shifts are just inherently destabilizing processes. That said, I have a little bit of a contrarian opinion in that I don't think the U.S.'s power is under as much threat right now as much as it was six months ago*. I don't think there is really much of a 'void' to be filled at present, China has been pretty passive lately with the geopolitical games which I think backs up my feeling. They're a bit active in the South Pacific but that's about it from what I've seen. Meanwhile Russia is just spiralling into middle power status. Why can't Russia or China offer stability?

China's struggling with internal economic and political issues that have become quite bad in the last six months, between their housing sector imploding (Which is an even more important market there, due to assorted financial fuckery) and the party chaining itself to zero covid while also crippling a lot of the economies the local party members depend on as a result. There's a lot of political power fighting in China right now, and whichever side takes the reigns will be very keen to drive focus outwards while they do their thing. Expect a sudden bout of paper tiger on the global stage as soon as its sorted out.Global power shifts are just inherently destabilizing processes. *Europe is 100% fucked though and that will be a huge problem. But that comes later.
Hochul still within ≤10 points, at least until gas is starts costing $10+. That's when everything save for anything big in New England and West Coast (mostly California) becomes vulnerable.Posted it in the Happenings thread, but in case you though the Dems were going to learn anything (HA!) , New York City will mandate vaccines for children to attend school in the Fall.

Yeah… I think China and Russia will likely be the two big players in the new multipolar world, but I really don’t think it’s going to be the current China and Russia, and I don’t think that shift (e.g. the decay of US global power) is going to happen anywhere near as quickly as some in this thread are hoping/predicting.Global power shifts are just inherently destabilizing processes. NY seems to be busy pushing a bunch of laws aside from jab mandatesin case you though the Dems were going to learn anything (HA!) , New York City will mandate vaccines for children to attend school in the Fall.

There is nothing human in those eyes.@Gehenna why are most conservatives or Republicans cucked when it comes to challenging California, even the ones here just obsessed with muh low taxes while getting their asses kicked at everything else.

Gotta say, I'm disappointed, kiwis. Only talking about Krillin and Tien, and not the most obvious one. Hell, I thought at least one of the older users here would have said it.
California is a lost cause. The recal election cemented a view as outright policy which had been unspoken fear.@Gehenna why are most conservatives or Republicans cucked when it comes to challenging California, even the ones here just obsessed with muh low taxes while getting their asses kicked at everything else.

I feel like we need The Wall around California more than we need The Wall around Mexico. I've met lots of Mexicans, I like a lot of them. I've never met a Californian I liked.California is a lost cause. The recal election cemented a view as outright policy which had been unspoken fear.
No fraud necessary, California wanted Newsom. The state is lost to any conservative effort, so why waste the money and time when they could be be better spent elsewhere?
Alternatively we could give California to Mexico and then build the wall around Mexico after it's new addition.I feel like we need The Wall around California more than we need The Wall around Mexico. I've met lots of Mexicans, I like a lot of them. I've never met a Californian I liked.
I think every kid should have an AR-15 or AK-47 because guns are cool. In all seriousness, Gavin Newsom is an asshole and I hate his grating, condescending voice.@Gehenna why are most conservatives or Republicans cucked when it comes to challenging California, even the ones here just obsessed with muh low taxes while getting their asses kicked at everything else.

I love Mexicans, they work hard and they play hard.I feel like we need The Wall around California more than we need The Wall around Mexico. I've met lots of Mexicans, I like a lot of them. I've never met a Californian I liked.
