Diet Coke in my opinion at least is essentially the most Aspertame strong diet soda. Straight on the tongue it's just an instant hit of ridiculous sweet flavor followed by an ungodly aftertaste. I'm convinced if you just dumped 8 packets of Sweet-N-Low into Soda Water it'd taste similar to Diet Coke.
