General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

They were a tech company with hololive as a virtual idol brand to showcase their motion capture tech.
All holos use propietary live2d tech (except gen 0), adding one more reason for why some models feel like they're behind the industry standard.
Anyone have a source on this? Sora and Cover basically partnered so she could be a vtuber so I don't really understand how Gen 0 doesn't use the live2d tech. Exceptions would be Roboco 3D, Suisei homemade model, but AZKi/Miko I don't know.

Call me cynical but I don't think a company gets 11 million dollars in venture capital and keeps their previous corporate culture.
There are plenty of stories about tech companies completely changing after they started getting venture capital, partly because future VC is held over the executives' heads and investors demand sweeping changes to minimize waste and maximize profit.

Whatever sweetheart deals Vshojo has with talent will eventually change and thinking it won't is wishful thinking.
I agree with this. There is just no way that a company will remain unchanged when every investors meeting demand more and more profit. It just how business work. Gunrun maybe a great tech nerd, but so far I haven't seen him prove himself as shrew business man to navigate that. Maybe I'm wrong and he will. Who knows.

But if the day come when they do change to the point it isn't what it promise and she jump ship over that, what's harm? She already enjoyed the support and exposure from them, and she can just jump back to be fully indie then do her own thing -- be it to make her grand dream come true or to just building gunpla for 2k viewers, there is no set back to joining now in the long run. So long as she isn't dumb enough to sign her IP away, I can't see a lasting setback, and I think she understand how painful it is to lose the character and community you build-up.

I mean technically that's kinda like what Machinima was originally and look where that ended up....

No matter what even if a company originally started as just a group of a couple friends with their own separate IP's the moment you go corporate and expand plus get investors is the moment things change fundamentally. The Creatures was a group of friends with their own privately owned channels and they ended up breaking up due to disagreements about taking the group into a more corporate direction. The most popular members left, Kootra the head of the group went ahead and transformed it into an official company, got more content creators to fill the roster which didn't work out and the company eventually petered out until it disbanded.

People just feel like it's wishful thinking to expect Vshojo is going to stay the same especially if they plan to expand further as an Agency.
I mean that could happen and chances are that it probably will but how long will it take? I dont think anyone is expecting this whole Vtubing thing to last forever. Kson is smart enough to jump ship once it does. Technically she did it once with Hololive, and she can do it again.

Buckos already offered. She seems like she's determined to replace the battery right now though.

It's unknown what she was planning but it sounded like she was trying to finish this on an emulator despite her mods saying she's a corpo and emulators are a no-no.
What do mods know, sheesh.

As someone with a lot of videogame hardware and games, I'm still a fan of emulators. There is legal precedent for emulators and things like private servers for games being OK, as long as you're not stealing source code to do so (so, most emulators are A-Ok having been reverse engineered, and if you want good examples of private servers, check out PSO and Biohazard: Outbreak). There are legal ways to dump roms (and bios if necessary, done it with my PS2). My only remaining concern would be if they were a JP company, because Japan is super strict about this sort of thing, but Tsunderia isn't iirc.

Also, a few options for seeking dumping abilities for physical carts: https://dumping.guide/carts/nintendo/snes

(Really, though, my true feelings are sail the seas, and I also really like my SNES classic, Much less complicated in a modern world, save states if you really need them, no worries for data loss, no annoying, un-hideable border like on the switch, no yearly subscription, easy to mod to run other games also)

Also, Happy Independence Day for us United States citizens. Hopefully it's an enjoyable one, don't blow your fingers off, but if you do, make sure to share it with the internet so at least someone gets entertainment out of it.

It's less about legality and more about company policy - she is a corpo even if Tsunderia doesn't seem to bother with getting permissions at all. Maybe she'll go with something like VC, nobody could yell at her for using roms then.

From the creators of Mori doomposting and Kiara doomposting, we present to you:
K-SON DOOMPOSTING!!!!!!!!
I mean the last 2 pages have been half Vshojo "doomposting" (weird calling it like that since most of the thread trashes the company as a sport) rather than kson ones and half other topics. If some people are so obsessed to cry doomposting everytime someone types kson/mori/kiara/connur, go ahead, we cant change your mind nor perceptions.

Which makes me think, why "doomposting" about other people than the 4 mentioned arent considered like that? Cherrypicking too much?
