General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

See, that's the mentality you shouldn't have. VShoujo is open and lets people do what they want to a great extent, meaning head bitch Coco from the Hololive days can't exist in that setting. Anyone who's expecting her to tardwrangle at any point are just asking her to get into unnessesary drama she can't actually do anything about.
I mean there is tardwrangling and then there is playing councilor like in her lore vid i expect the latter
Hana also actively debuffs herself, but I think it's only a matter of time before she starts interacting with EN more commonly and picks up steam again.
Decided to nerf herself, despite it also affected her entire group as a result
Nerf herself how exactly how to you intentionally limit your viewership without doing something controversial?
Of course it was her
In another universe Botan would lead the gamer branch

I'm not, I sorta expected her to be an EN Ollie based on her similar colors and being teased as being "Chaos" but.. she seems like the introvert who can fake being an extrovert for a while. I understand cus I'm the same. I kinda sense Kiara might be this as well, the designated extrovert of the group but shy af to new people.
I got the vibe Mori and Kiara were most extroverted given they had on stage careers. I just didn't think Bae would be the introvert of council, I leaned more towards Fauna due to her quiet voice/tone. Maybe Sana is the most extroverted then, she seems to say weird shit with no fucks given.
Pekora’s super shy in public too, I think Noel told the story of them all letting irl and Pekora being meek and quiet.
I know. Pekora is probably the most blatant example of being a totally different person off stream. Personally it seems weird to struggle more with face to face stuff than streaming to thousands of people. I get you don't see anyone, but objectively there is less pressure IRL when it's just you and someone else.
Bonus cute shy Pekora clip.

Is Aqua more shy than Pekora or about the same?

Eye contact and actually seeing people look at you can be a real bitch compared to words on a screen.

But counseling implies they want to get help/seek counsel, and based on the freedom given, what would they go looking for?

I'm just surprised how they all haven't really slip up much in saying irl names during streams or whatever. I feel like that's a hard thing to do once you gotten real close with your coworkers and became friends. Maybe I'm wrong in that but I feel it isn't easy to not slipup once you gotten close and during hours long streams tired or so much happening.
The ones that surprise me the most with this is Connor especially since he constantly calls Hime, Syd. Also given that he constantly interacts with both Karen and Calli.

That immediate backpedaling is the cherry on top.
I believe she called herself Karen again on that same stream. "HERE'S KAREN" as she came out of her disguise when she was the killer (dont have the timestamp).

Cannur and everyone else know that syd is hime, there's no real point in caring if it slips out.

Emote artist Chiika has announced her return to streaming after a year-long break.

Because 4/5ch exists and people can't be trusted. If you happen to be a cute girl? Congrats, you now have schizo stalkers and you gave free access to your information and location.
You're no worse off than a regular streamer in that case and most of them seem to survive it. But sure, I get why the talent themselves might care. The part I really don't understand is the person I replied to saying "I'd never have got into vtubers if I'd started in this era of western indies who don't care about opsec". Or the people a few pages back going off on Bao showing a tattoo and her skirt pattern. Why do you care?
If they become really popular, why not? The vtuber who showed her internal organs on stream just got an iM@S sponsorship.
As you get bigger the cost/benefit of doing anything controversial shifts in favour of playing itself. Especially if you don't have a clear leader who can say yes to things (which it doesn't feel like VShojo does), you default to saying no.
with Coco/kson I kind of got tired of how she is put on a pedestal and given so much credit for being a "pillar" of EN vtubing. While she was admittedly popular, I still think EN would have kicked off without her and she was just right place at the right time to capture that audience until full-time ENs came onto the scene. I'm sure I piss off all her fans here for not believing she was the savior and that she is kind of mid or maybe lower, in my opinion.
She's an outstandingly good interpreter, even before you consider that she does it while being an on-screen talent at the same time. Honestly just compare EN-JP collabs she's part of versus any other one you pick (not just Hololive).

I'm sure there would be some kind of English vtuber scene without her. But there wouldn't be Hololive EN, and the culture would have developed separately and could have had any number of other differences.

Yes, his point was he was surprised Cannur doesn't slip up the same way on anyone else like Calli, Ironmouse or whoever else welshman interacts with that's not Syd, the open secret.

My guess is the knowledge that Hime isn't under any kind of NDA to not dox herself subconsciously makes it easier for Connor to fuck up and dox her

By contrast its prolly a way bigger deal for Connor to dox Karen despite the open secret that it is and thus he once again subconsciously takes it more serious

It might also have to do with how he met them first he knew Syd much longer than hime and I bet trash taste all knew Calli longer than Karen so he defaults to Syd for Hime and Calli for Karen

Hime herself when she would stream would frequently join games without making a separate account and just showing up in game as "Sydney" or "Sydsnap" and awkwardly pretending like it was totally nothing.

Aye but the distinction is it's a non secret with Hime, so it's not a slip up with her he just doesn't even have to be careful. Whereas he doesn't slip up in cases where he does need to be.
