I've said this in the the threads for the last 3 mass shooters. The Buffalo, the Uvalde, and the D.C. one that had the Yakub poster on his wall. The Zoomers are an entirely deracinated generation, early Millennials only had touchs of this, setting in deeply towards the back half of the generation -- real world activity has been supplanted by social media and video games; the evangelical Boomers who blamed video games for the Columbine shooters were using an easy scape goat but it wasn't 100% off the mark. No longer do the kids just go out and play baseball, soccer or whatever pickup game the locals kids are doing at the time. They play it online via matchmaking, an endless rotation of nobodies that you hear for 15 minutes before they leave your life forever. To quote Hillary's superpredator line, "no empathy, no conscious" -- Zoomers are just as disconnected from reality as the black youths of the '90s hoods who had no fathers and maybe if they were lucky they had a crackhead mother, left entirely to the whims of the streets they all became sociopathic child soldier murderers for whatever gang of youths they managed to fall in with, before being elevated into the drug trade. A number of years later most were dead from attrition via gang warfare, or were nabbed by the police for a variety of reasons.

Instead of the hard streets, the Zoomers are left in an illusory prison of isolation, they can leave this prison at any time, but the addictions instilled in them by the algorithmic content pipelines has left them so enured to their situation that the thought would never cross their mind, not that it would matter much, those that strike off the shackles of these algorithms only find themselves in an increasingly dysfunctional world without anyone worth interacting with. Zoomers bounce between this or that group with almost no attachment, one day a socialist, the next an alt-right neo-nazi, the next they're trying out being a transgender, whatever content pipeline they fall down radicalizes them to an extreme because the algo had to find more and more extreme content to keep them entertained. Eventually they end up on 4chan or some Antifa Discord and in short order they're clubbing people in the head shouting Black Lives Matter or shooting up a shopping mall after writing up a Helter Skelter style manifesto. Zoomers are as close as you can get to a human that is a blank slate, an automaton that just follows the last set of programming introduced to it, prior generations like the early millenials, Gen-X, and, Boomers had a spark of community instilled in them, they cared about each other and the idea of just shooting up the place is repellent to them.

The opinions these people have aren't based on anything of value, they don't self reflect in any real capacity. It's not like they're actually trying to send a message, they're not organized. Acting like any of these people have a political perspective that reflects on whatever group that supposedly birthed them is nonsense. I think at this point we've been exposed to enough of these people that we can say there's really not much to dissect politically. supply outstrips demand. Jamaica sucks in guns from the US, often by way of Haiti. Pawn shops and wholesalers are a major source, as are Floridian criminals disposing of guns that could link them to crimes. Gunrunners know how poor Jamaicans are so they rent out guns. This is advantageous for criminals because once the gun has been used, they have a place to get it off their hands. The gun will then show up in a different crime, not connected to the previous renter. The police can only prove a homicide if the suspect is caught red handed with a smoking gun. Stop snitching is on another level.

Even if the illegal gun renter does something to allow them to buy the gun, they keep renting. Use it, get it back to the owner, get a new one next time they need it. Take the robbery money and buy a gun for self defense legally. You might wonder if gun renters steal guns for themselves. The answer is not really. Stealing a gun from a criminal who owns lots of guns is bad for your health. And it’s a bad idea to hold onto an illegal gun. Even the owner tries to keep it out of his own hands as much as possible.

Once a gun has been used 10-15 times, the gunrunner may ship it off to Haiti or Mexico in exchange for new guns. Or just dump it in the ocean if it’s poor quality. This limits the crimes he can be implicated in.

It’s basically a giant game of musical chairs, but with guns.

While I am solidly in the millennial generation, I once did 9 days in the county lockup because I was younger and stupider.

Even sticking my toe in that water sucked and I don't live on social media and discord. The lack of input and the fact that you're in that cell quite a lot throughout the day is shitty. It didn't take long to realize that nope. No PC, no books, no nothing, just you in a room and some shitty bologna sandwiches three times a day. I ate pretty much nothing and lost almost 20 lbs in 9 days. I eventually got a Bible to read and that was actually great. As it was at least something to do. Just you and 4 walls is a whole nother world of boredom man. I didn't even have some other idiot to talk to.

I can't even imagine how it is for terminally online Gen Z. Must be some true nightmare fuel. It will take a week or two for reality to set in on this nutjob.

For the record, my charges were later dismissed and expunged. So that was good.
