I remember, vaguely, a push for bark and pebble and white stone lawns.

Naw, lets just force everyone else to give us water for our automatic sprinklers that run for 3 hours every morning and evening.

My grandparents who still live in the region have gone to a xeriscape front yard because the city was sending inspectors to bother my grandparents about grass not being trimmed frequently. Imagine that, a disabled 90 year old Vietnam vet can't mow the lawn like he did 20 years ago.

Honestly I'm glad they went with a xeriscape. Their water bill will go down a lot and for their income that should be quite a relief. Their front yard also won't attract the ire of town clerk busybodies due to the lawn being a scraggly, underwatered, poorly maintained mess.
The amount of water wasted to maintain a suburban image viable in wetter parts of America is something I truly loathe.

Oh no, see, the fires and depleted water tables are caused by global warming, which just coincidentally isn't caused by our egregious mismanagement of our own ecological resources...turns out it's caused by people not voting Democrat enough and throwing enough resources after trendy futuretech!

Managing your water and forest resources responsibly is boring and hard and can't just be fixed by electing the latest screeching shitlib.

I studied geology with some env. sci. on the side and I can understand a site survey saying "this canyon can't be a reservoir or you'll get San Francisquito Dam Failure 2" or "an endemic species lives only here in the whole wide world; reservoir = extinction" but the insistence of Californian eco-faggots on being parasites to support their demented anti-human, laissez-faire environmental stewardship model is harming the rest of America. The Colorado runs dry watering lawns and almonds while the westerlies drag soot and smoke from one of the perennial wildfires east.

The San Joaquin Valley subsided 9 meters between 1925 and 1970 and it's only gotten worse as California is wrung dry by agricultural practices ill suited to an arid state. The fires are merely a fact of life in that state now, fire season never really ends like it did when I lived there as a kid. A grass fire can very easily turn into a fire that threatens to raze entire neighborhoods or townships because there's nothing but kindling, sage brush, and eucalyptus trees everwhere with zero forestry management.

Biden was the culmination of this move by the left, who committed election fraud of the highest degree possible to get him installed. Even quasi-red pilled shills like Bill Maher acknowledge that Biden's health issues and his mental stability was second only to removing Trump by any means necessary.

And again, I invoke the ten year Reich of Kamala Harris, because even though the masses despise her, (((they))) are dead set on maxing out her term as President fuck the will of the people because that's the only alternative they have at the moment replacing Biden.

This is correct. Most of the triangulation happened after the midterms where GOP took over both sides of Congress for the first time in decades. His first two years was plagued with left wing garbage: Hillarycare, gun control, Waco, etc. He became a moderate and embraced neoliberalism to ensure he could win the 1996 election. Let’s not forget he was given millions of dollars from China, which resulted in them being given the most favored nation status for trade. The leftist are the most vocal and visible faction, they also have supporters in media, and the fucking psy-op that is social media.

I wonder how many voters are just prog adjacent. I have friends who aren't SJWs themselves but would certainly use the right pronoun, for example. They are pro-vaccine pro-ukraine pro-whatever but also afraid of the woke mob at work.

Basically I'm wondering what it would take to un-stick voters like that from the democrats, or at least to the point where democrats would start abandoning the SJWs. It wasn't THAT long ago that SJWs were seen as uncool. It was like 10 years ago that you could call them out as being full of themselves without being seen as an evil wrongthinker.

They do not see the danger that the progressives represents and even invite them in with open arms since they will energize and bring in the young vote.
The progressives, and often mixed with actual communists of different denominations, soon become one of the stronger voices of the party. At this point the party is held hostage by the progressives since they can not kick them out. Instead put blinders on and pray that things will turn-around.

Eventually they have pushed so far and lost so much of the centre support that there is an election where the party is completely destroyed and unelectable for the next decade. At this point there is no point in pretending everything is fine and no point in worrying about losing the support from the progressive left any more and they finally kick them all out and start rebuilding.

It happens over and over.
