General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Kobo’s gone full rat.
It's possible that Kobo reaches the million milestone this week. Blue kusogaki still going strong.

Aqua better watch whose time slot she streams in now.
Easy, she simply doesn't stream any more. Sad reality right know, check her VOD archive...

Out of curiosity, what are some people's favorite Birthday/Anniversary/Special Event lives, and maybe specific songs during them? Partly just want to see if I missed any great ones. I'll exclude anything from Watame since she's my oshi.
I'm a newfag, so you'll forgive my plebian choices.

Aki's 2022 birthday live, particularly Alice in Musicland, was my introduction to Aki lives.

Calli's 2022 birthday live - the dance with Suisei cracks me up every time. You know the one.

Lui's 3D debut - she correctly predicted that she would get Sony'd so I'm counting it as a live lol. Her performance of Kirameki Rider was the first time she covered any Holo song on a public stream AFAIK. Yes, not even Ahoy or Homenobi.

Some people are suspecting this might be a new gen, because the scheduled time is the same as the usual time for gen reveals (12:00 JST). Would still suggest keeping the expectations down to some unit reveal.

It also lines up with roughly the same time the 'LIGHT UP TONES' concert was announced last year.

'Liar's Alliance' feels more like it may be some kind of new variety show on the main channel. Perhaps some kind of game show centred around deceit? A TTRPG thing like Critical Role?

I've heard through the grapevine that Kaburaki Roco, VTA Gen 1's 'Golden Child', said she won't be streaming next week, which may be an indicator of a new wave, but I'm personally not convinced.

Whatever it is, I like Nijisanji's approach of teasing things and giving everyone absolutely no clue until it's time. Reminds me of when Hololive English did that things with the cube.

Nene's first 3D live.
Her original China-inspired design had been cucked by zhangs because of the Taiwan debacle, so she had to get a full redesign.
As a consequence it took her months longer than the rest of her generation to get a 3D reveal, and it was making her very depressed. That resulted in a much-awaited, emotional 3D live where she put out her best.

Please..no more. I'm still trying to get my head around the current 5 EN gens.

I don't think it is though. Did their Twitter make a weird out of context post yet?

You should unsubscribe from everything PhaseConnect related right now, because Sakana puts a whole bottle of ketchup into his tomato sauce. This is the worst thing the Chinese people have done in recorded history.

This is what Japs consider pasta.

I love the irony of how the japs do shit like this but then act like "AMELICAN FOOD" is some horrifying abomination.
Meanwhile, Shiina comes in with an ACTUAL sauce recipe:

It also looks like all the Phase Connect Gen 2 members have got the waiting rooms up for the debuts - save Remilia Nephys (who appears to be first up based on timeslots). Waiting rooms linked below.

Lee Roha just started the final stream before her scheduled 300-day hiatus.

I haven't followed their teasers much, I just figured an English announcement would be for EN not JP.
It's on the main JP channel, so probably not an EN thing. Japanese people actually like using basic English to sound cool, kinda like how weebs think they're cool speaking broken moonrunes. I'm pretty sure there was even a term for that, but I can't quite remember it.
