Yeah, thought that was what they were doing, so it's still Splash Mountain, just might have a different name to it now.

In any case, this is just them erasing "problematic" stuff from their parks. Can't let the kiddies know a damn thing about Brer Rabbit, now can we?
They might pull a Pirates of the Caribbean and keep the name and just add the Princess and the Frog stuff. Depends on how much they change the ride though.

They find that offensive but they're okay showing an ex stormtrooper chasing after white women acting like a buffoon as with the character of Finn in Disney Wars.

Well, it's location in the parks in Critter Country, but very close to New Orleans Square, means they probably won't change much. The actual Brer Rabbit parts only make up a small portion of the ride, actually, and mainly toward the end. I mean, hell, the bulk of the animatronics were already recycled from America Sings anyways so it's not like Splash Mountain doesn't have a long history of recycling animatronics anyways. Really, they already have a riverboat, a swampy landscape, and gators. A handful of animatronics aside the only other thing they really need to do is just record new lines and music.

"Never Seen Before!"

Yet I'm getting "Croods" vibes, "Titan A.E." bits, and "Monsters vs. Aliens" influences. With the "Disney face" syndrome. The guy could've been a slightly stretched an/or squashed model from Onward (also reminds me of the backpacker guy in Hotel Transylvania), the woman looked like a recolored version of the strong sister from Encanto.

It literally looks like leftovers and playing around with the physics engine of their 3D software.
Yes. I just had a sperge about this on another thread about Disney. It's like they're beating the Star Wars theme to death. People are getting stick of this sci-fi spaceman shit being in every movie, let alone the rainbow stuff.

Disneyland's IG and FB got hacked:

So somewhat Disney-related but Marvel's side.

The new Thor film is BAD like pretty bad. It is such a tonal mess with shitty editing, I glossed over a major character possibly dying. It just skips to the next bit, I turned my head for 10 seconds. There is a lot of forced gay shit in too and Tessa Thompson was not the person involved in them lol. In fact Tessa was the stronger actor in this "film". This film does not feel like a Thor film at all and honestly is worse than Dark World. Gorr was shit beyond belief and the action was non-existent.

That Strange World trailer looked like absolute ass, it was worse than the Crood's one.

I know that there are some Atlantis and Treasure Planet fans here, but both of those movies flopped very badly, and it felt like Lightyear was from a similar mold. Disney might really want to start highlighting the sillier aspects of Strange World, or it’s gonna get massacred.
difference being they came out in a time where "(young)-adult animation" was pretty much limited to simpsons or family guy. you heard disney movie and immediately though of a very specific type of movie, usually involving princesses, and when you went to see one that's what you expected. anything else was either straight comedy like shrek or other movies like sinbad (seriously, how many animated movies from the 00's do you even remember yourself besides the big dreamwork's hits or pixar?).
we're long past that now where a single shonen-manga is more successful than capeshit comics combined and anime has become mainstream. the only thing those movies somewhat relate to lightyear is that it was another movie without an audience (even when going full on REMEMBER BRAND?!?!), not to mention quality and goals of the movie itself.

don't even know what strange world wants to be, however it just reeks of LE WACKY FAMILY MOVIE with current year shit, which will be technically impressive but boring as fuck, like most of disney's output the last few years. if you add audience being more divided on disney and things in general, a proper adventure movie played straight might have been more successful just for that.

Noticed no one's posted the trailer for Skydance's film yet.
Um...

I don't feel anything with this one, even with Lasseter at the helm. Maybe it's just a bland trailer.
Hmm, first impression is Monsters Inc./Inside Out, honestly. The character designs aren't too bad, but they feel generic, especially the girl at the end (she's got those Frozen/Tangled facial proportions.)
This will be interesting to see unfold. The comeback of Lasseter, leading a bunch of pros who used to work for Disney. A lot of people are pinning their hopes on Skydance, so we'll see if the problem was truly Disney higher ups .

I was looking for a particular lost scene from Snow White that involved the dwarves queueing up their jewels to be sent to a Canadian bank but it's been yeeted from Youtube. From what I remember it was supposed to be some sort of political satire? Maybe it was a hoax, like that dude who allegedly hung himself on a tree prop in Wizard of Oz?

Disney produced some films for the NFB during World War II. Maybe it's something like that.

EDIT: This is what you're looking for.

I knew that they made some (and other pro-American/pro-ally shorts) for American armed forces, but this is the first time I heard that they made one for Canada too. I can tell with this though they had a definite budget cap for it since they outright reused clips and animation for the bulk of it.
