I remember saying that. I don't know if it's every phone, but Samsung definitely does. I didn't realize it for about two years, because back then the button to adjust the filter wasn't obvious. I also think the filters are stronger now than they were back in 2015-2016 when I had Android. I remember mine defaulting to what basically amounted to light foundation smoothing out my skin tone and a little bit of wrinkle reduction. I've seen some truly scary obvious filters on my friends in the last two years. Multiple people posting the same level of uncanny valley.
