But Twitter's stock is tanking now because he made this all public and now everyone knows they're nuimbers are being cooked.

So they want to sue him to force him to buy them before the market destroys them.

I mean let's back this up and assume this isn't a forgone conclusions. Our options:

1. This plays out as it is now. Musk has a good reason to liquidate a lot of assets without negatively impacting their value. Whatever the eventual settlement with Twitter ends up as is a pittance in comparison.
2. DD checks out, there aren't documented bot problems, and a lot of Twitter's doubters get BTFO. He's now owner of a company proven to be undervalued and really 2nd/3rd largest in the space.

This is the kind of win/win an idiot could sort out if they had the war chest to do it. Musk does.

Musk is a genius and I am not sure he really could be corned as he seems to consider steps well in advance when it comes to business. Whatever the outcome he will ensure it is to his benefit in some way even if he pays a bit of change.

I'm always amazed how persons like Musk can control business and economics of things and play his games, but these rules don't apply to genetics and they always appear dumbfounded when their meticulous plans with their kids go completely AWOL.

The more I think about it the more I think there has to be more to it than just this. If that was Musk's plan, why not do this approach with some company that was going to cause less controversy and notice than Twitter?

It is also simply the one most ripe for taking. Twitter in my eyes is the equivalent to Myspace in 2010. It's a dying platform, the app and now site's design to constantly throw ads at you is so obnoxious. Not to mention virtually all communication on Twitter is just straight up braindead.

If I were Elon Musk I would have just found maybe one or two lovely women with childbearing hips to birth out a platoon of children (the old fashioned way not Elon's autistic obsession with in vitro). And I would have happily wrecked Twitter because it's just obvious at this point that it's perceived value is built on illusions. Much like Elon's absurd Hyperloop scam but that's a story for a different thread.

Here's a fun fact: I know several successful small business owners. Social Media marketing is extremely important to them and they pay good money to advertise. But none of them use fucking Twitter, they're on Instagram. And Instagram is everything Twitter pretends it still is. They're also on Tiktok which is what people use now when they want to turn off their brains. A decade ago that's what Twitter was used for.

Twitter fucked up in the long run by placating to deviants and shitposters. Twitter's atmosphere is like New York City in the film Taxi Driver. It's just a decrepit landscape filled with ugly people. No wonder it's the home of lolcows.
