So SCOTUS refused to see the case of solo enterprise truckers v California which means now that it's going to probably be illegal to work for yourself, and not some company as a trucker. Can anyone say "mass starvation"?

AB5 does not make illegal to be an owner-operator in California. What it does do is make it illegal for an owner-operator to lease their truck to another trucking company. If you have all paperwork, you can run under your own authority as an owner-operator in California.

Which is why SCOTUS wouldn't take it up. Its entirely an issue within a state which does not infringe any constitutional amendments. SCOTUS' hands are tied in such a case.
