Savage has pretty good CS and can take a look at it. if it's a receiver from 2002-2014 there's a chance that the receiver doesn't have the "meat" forward of the recoil lug for a bull barrel profile (there is a shoulder required for the extra mass). using a stock to float the barrel and put a single point of contact towards the front of the stock to "push up" on the barrel if needed can resolve this sort of issue. a good test method is to use a roll of masking tape and a ball bearing or something and keep adding tape until the group has tightened acceptably but not excessively, then measure the amount of deflection needed to achieve that. then modify the stock to have that same deflection (typically i will use epoxy putty with wood shavings and color-match as needed. if it's a laminate stock it may be uglier, but i find a matte black, round "bump" tends to work well enough.bull-barrel Savage
an aluminum block and pillars can also tighten the group from wandering if the stock has significant flex from the bull barrel (which can give weird harmonics in both wood and synthetic stocks) but if it's a modern Savage, then it's likely already pillared and tightening further isn't the issue.
