Damn, 3rd Gen already? I've said before that I think this program is a great idea, but is Nijisanji maybe pumping this too much? I know not everyone would be ending up in Niji, but quite a few probably will. If they're planning for a 4th Gen, I think they should maybe give a little time for the previous gens to solidify a fanbase before diverting fans' attention with another gen of shiny new toys. Or maybe do one for EN maybe, since the ENs last main gens have pretty much settled already
Pikamee's kinda suffered a bit from the market saturation and the algo pushing more of the newer chuubas and their clips. She also kinda nerfed herself on some of her streams by using her "isekai" avatar. People have a justifiably irrational love for her first avatar and her chibi kaiju one.Haven't seen Pikamee or TMSK mentioned much recently, are they still doing okay?
C'mon. It's fucking /vt/. Turns out she hasn't been streaming as much due Japanese summer being as hot as balls and her stupid AC is broken.Actually she's depressed due to twitterfags being critical of her dinosaur model and blaming her for magnet's demise if you believe that member post floating around /vt/
It was kinda fun to see her be so self-reflective with the Kronies, hopefully she takes her revelations and makes some positive effort to incorporating them.Kronii member stream
Well now Kiara said it was just the last few days when she learned about the graduation(?). Also doesn't know much about it because it was more between Sana and Council but she does seem to know the reason. Also apparently no Holotalk episode with Sana because "no time" which doesn't surprise me all that much because it doesn't feel like Sana wants to talk about her breaks and such. Would be hard to dance around the subject since Sana was constantly on a break of some sort.Kiara says she found out about Sana graduating when she went over to Ame-haus. That means council knew throughout their offcollab.
Was that clip even a meme in Japan though? Yagoo said many things including that he was inspired by SIMPS throwing money at twitch thots (not a direct quote). Anyway I guess a lot of casual/normie/redditor Western fans have this idol culture = antichrist stereotype and would jump on anything to convince others or even themselves that hololive is totally not in league with Satan. People forget (if they even know) that Cover didn't start as a Vtuber business let alone an idol one.Nobody insinuated Yagoo being an idol business veteran. I was just adding something related to the transition from "Idol" to "entertainment" thing. (One of) the basis of Hololive's idol reputation is from Yagoo's answer in an old interview stating that Hololive was envisioned to be a virtual AKB48 of sorts. People went with it and Hololive does have an idol company reputation, but the members don't really behave like typical idols and the memes of Yagoo suffering from success flourished. There wasn't anything official (or in black and white) stating that Hololive was transitioning from Idol to Entertainment. Other than Yagoo saying Cover is a Cutting edge 2d entertainment company, all this transition talk is all just implied from bits and pieces that fans have gathered since then, including the one I mentioned.
Actually she's depressed due to twitterfags being critical of her dinosaur model and blaming her for magnet's demise if you believe that member post floating around /vt/ for a moment (not her member so can't confirm and some people said it was actually deleted fast).I never see her online as often as I used to. But Pikamee, at least, seems fine.
Much like the concept of a good relationship with their father, 95% of EN indies don't understand the concept of balance between seiso and yab, and how the audience gets desensitized to seeing your tits flopping around after a while, or to your raunchy jokes, or Amy Schumer-tier MUH VAGINA talk after a while if you do nothing but.It is kinda hilarious how it eventually evolved into "LEMME COOMERBAIT", and "spam this to death til even the talents tell me to stfu", even as a horny degen you can throw so much "look at my tits/thighs blahblah" at me before I'm just like "fuck off, show me some talent." The indie scene is wild..
I honestly completely forgot they existed. The 2nd gen of voms are the ones never talked about. TMSK is still doing her thing.
A lot of new Vtubers tend to follow Twitch culture which is a big contributing factor. Twitch currently has a stupid meta where you either slut it up and coombait, be edgy and talk shit, or do bottom of the barrel react content to pad out stream time. This has been bothering me for a while but it's just a fact that a large section of new vtubers think that being "yabe" is somehow edgy and cool and spamming their unfunny memes, degenerate posting and raunchy humour somehow makes them better than the boring, dated and mainstream idols of hololive.
When if you really think about it, most vtubers are coomerbaiting degenerates or atleast they aren't idols or pretend to be, so the actual mainstream in this community, specially the western side has always been raunchy shit.
I dunno. We have the 'Niji are moving too quickly' discussion about everything they do in general.
I'll be the first to admit that I didn't expect Gen 2 to be seventeen new people debuting over three days but VTA is not about growing a fanbase but rather using the people who show up as a means to gain confidence and become a better entertainer. The fact that the likes of Ponto Nei, Kaburaki Roco, Shikinagi Akira, Yotsuha Umise, Orihito Kuno and Kusakabe Azusa have/had a dedicated fanbase comes secondary because less popular members still got in to Ranunculus/Voltaction.
I'm personally very excited to know what kind of people they're looking for in Gen 2.5 because those people are likely to be part of the iceberg of talented Indie V-Tubers who have a straight shot at getting into Nijisanji.
Not sure if it was a meme in Japan, but the JP viewers (basing on clips I watched when I started out) all seem to refer to them as idols. Whether or not those fans were also just memeing, I can't say for sureWas that clip even a meme in Japan though? Yagoo said many things including that he was inspired by SIMPS throwing money at twitch thots (not a direct quote). Anyway I guess a lot of casual/normie/redditor Western fans have this idol culture = antichrist stereotype and would jump on anything to convince others or even themselves that hololive is totally not in league with Satan. People forget (if they even know) that Cover didn't start as a Vtuber business let alone an idol one.
Afaik hololive turned more idol after taking fanbase from Idol-bu when it imploded (thanks to no other than gachikoi Lucifer Kusonoki Sio RIP), that's when stuff like male collabs decreased drastically (not that those were super-common before but e.g. Subaru collabed a lot with Maimoto a male niji in 2019).
It probably came more from the girls themselves than some top-down management decision, idol fanbase tends to be more dedicated and loyal than normies which is very desirable when you're part of a group that's constantly introducing new members.
Bad, as I said some people got genuinely angry at her for her choiceI'm gonna have to watch the VOD for that one but divided in a good way or bad way?![]()
I am 99% sure idol company > entertainment company is just a follow-on meme from the whole Yagoo's dream thing. In the earlier Yagoo videos he'd always refer to hololive as an idol talent agency, similar to AKB48, JP holomems kept joking about that for a while, and about Sora keeping the idol dream alive, and at some point Yagoo just started referring to hololive as an entertainment company in his videos, and people found it hilarious. If you're looking for anything that's OFFICIAL on paper about being an idol company, or about becoming an entertainment commpany instead, I can't help you there.
Sana never really seemed to care about popularity too much though. She had a dedicated 2k viewers that would watch her play anything. Recovering her channel never really seemed like a thing that mattered to her.I never see her online as often as I used to. But Pikamee, at least, seems fine.
She said she wanted to say something before the news came out, maybe they didn't tell her when they were gonna release the statement until the last minute. I got the impression from when she said that, that she was being harsh on herself rather than being cold. She seemed to be on the verge of crying but kept it in.
Contrary to what other say, she really did try in the early days. She streamed consistently up until her October break and after it until she started having her back issues. Despite that, her growth was clearly far more stunted than the rest of Council, but even they had their own problems with slow growth. Youtube culled her channel the hardest, she lost like 100k subs pre-debut and shortly after debut. I think she was thoroughly fucked by the algorithm after that, as well. Once she had her back problems, there was no way she was going to be able to recover her channel without a massive effort she likely would not have been able to dedicate herself and know that it would have been worth the effort.
My point was, it matters when you need to divy time in your day between the thing that lets you survive in the world, your health, and your second job. If she felt like she could not properly balance her life to include Hololive, or Cover wanted her to do more than she thought she would be able to, then her lack of higher levels success within Hololive mattered more than she may have personally felt.Sana never really seemed to care about popularity too much though. She had a dedicated 2k viewers that would watch her play anything. Recovering her channel never really seemed like a thing that mattered to her.
Her concurrent viewers were improving. Even through stuff like pokemon arceus fad, she would hover between 3k to 5k on average. She just never talked about it because as many have pointed out, she wasn't in on this for the views and fame. It was a side gig that took too much of her limited time.Sana never really seemed to care about popularity too much though. She had a dedicated 2k viewers that would watch her play anything. Recovering her channel never really seemed like a thing that mattered to her.
I wonder if she means she knew about the pending graduation since the off collab but only found out "when" recently.Well now Kiara said it was just the last few days when she learned about the graduation(?). Also doesn't know much about it because it was more between Sana and Council but she does seem to know the reason.
