The reason I posted this is because I think some people are being especially exceptional about her since the VShojo announcement. Given that, as far as I can tell, no one really watches her here (myself included), people's reactions have been pretty silly, imo. She hasn't done anything worth the hate she is getting, just moving on with her life, instead of continuing to have somewhat stagnant content.

Since the whole "Not watching her" thing gets thrown around a lot.

I still support her, even though that I'm obviously not a fan of her decision joining vshojo.

She unfortunately (for her) falls into the: "Don't stick your dick in crazy" category. Not every hole should be a goal. I don't disagree with you but that's 1.2m before tax over 3 years.

So, $400K/year AVG.. Removing YouTube (30%) and Cover (35%) cuts, that's $140K a year. Minus Japanese income tax for her tax bracket and that gets slashed down to about $80K/year in SCs. So, of that $1.2m she probably saw about $240K of it.

More than enough to buy food and keep a roof over her head but most of the fan money doesn't reach her. Also, Towa and Aki both already said that Cover don't pay for solo projects at all.

I agree with the root of the message, though: she isn't doing 18+ ASMR solely to pay the bills and make it so she can continue as Noel. She's doing it because she wants to and that's pretty much all there is to it. How she feels about the direction she's going with it is totally separate.

You fucking retard. The point was not she was struggling to pay rent, the point was what she made being vtuber is pittance compare to what she made whoring herself on niconico. In her own words they pay the cost of MV for themselves and the salary she got from hololive last month would be negative if you subtract the cost. Cover would only cover (heh) the cost if it;s something they promoted themselves. Both Pekora and Marine also touched on the subject in the past, one of them, I forgot which, cried about how she pay 1 million yen out of her own pocket for a project and even then got rejected. If you are pretty sure of the contrary, feel free to provide something to correct me.

And the monetary return on music video is basically non existence in term of ad revenue.

Another prime example is Suou Patra from Honey Strap. SocialBlade estimated her yearly youtube superchat income at around 31 million yen. Last year, her voice pack on dlsite sold for 120 million yen alone. And that's not counting her NSWF account that also doing the same ASMR thing as Noel and selling erotic voice pack. Those are the thing that made bank for these girl, not the revenue from simply being a corporate vtuber.

So where's everyone elses porn career? Plenty of the girls have original songs with MVs without the sex work, some of them have side jobs, others only do HL and are able to make a living off it. From the point of view of someone like me who don't really follow them that much, they got:
- New outfits and live2d updates
- Their own 3D concert
- Their own version of Hologra animation
- Sponsorships
- Lot's of advertisement banners, at least for Uproar

Really seem to me that Cover treat them the same as they treat the girls.
