It's a legal excuse for not performing a contract due to unforseen circumstances making it impossible to perform the contract. Usually though it's either stipulated out in the terms of most large contracts and if it applies usually occurs when there's a natural disaster or other unforeseen event outside people's control.

Assuming your not just solely shitposting, a Force Majeure is a no fault contract escape clause, usually around some extreme situation. Like "I stopped paying the electricity bill of my house because my entire neighborhood burned down in a california wildfire". A situation where no realistic provision could have allowed either party to just avoid, ignore, or mitigate the situation, so the whole thing just gets voided.

War absolutely meets the circumstances of Force Majeure, although its more usually thought of in situations like "A hostile navy sunk our cargo ship so we lost your package" and that sort of stuff.

I'm pretty sure war doesn't always invoke force majeure, like when a liner unsuccessfully tried to argue that force majeure obviated its ability to ship goods bc of the closure of the Suez Canal and a court told them to get fucked and they could travel around the Cape like Vasco Da Gama.

They're not mutually exclusive, there can be corrupt reasons to make the sale to china, while still theoretically achieving the goal of bringing global prices down some, while also being stupid enough to think nobody will notice, while also begging others to cover for the fact that the SPR won't last forever. The trick of a long lasting politician is to find a way to maximize the lining of your pockets while still doing the 'right' thing in principle, if nothing else.

The reserve can't output at the rate its doing so currently for longer than a recession lasts, and it'll hit a critical point at which the military will start actively and vehemently opposing further releases as it would genuinely jeopardize their options in a conflict past a bottom level of capacity.

He's stuck between a rock and a dumb place. The ecofascists on the left don't want pollution anywhere they can see it, so we outsource our manufacturing to China and our Oil to the middle east. He CANNOT restart oil production in North America, and even if he tried, they won't work with him, they'll just wait until the next guy gets in, because who knows if one of the stupid ones will elbow the others out of the way and make Biden say something industry-destroying again next week? So his only choice is to go to the Middle East and try and use some pull. But not only does he not have any pull, the man has negative pull.

As for China, I can't tell if that was him trying to embezzle money for/with his son, or if that was him trying to do China a favor, or what.

This weekend, Lake posted on her Facebook page that there is huge bombshell about to be dropped about Robson. No indication of what that might be, so keeping my ear to the track to hear the Trump train a'coming.

All the RINOs are trying to beat Kari down in the primary. Matt Salmon dropped (although his name is still on the ballot) and threw his support to Robson. Seems like they're all afraid of Kari even though I feel she's the only one that can beat Katie Hobbs come November.
