TFW your entire life is centered around collecting government benefits.Polissa absorbs everything into her being (including yeast).
She is angy:

Is that $50 with or without a "celebratory joint?"
Obviously pet food isn't covered by food stamps. But couldn't she buy stuff like meat, rice, canned vegetables etc to diy some pet food instead of spending half of it on low tier soft drinks?

EDIT: She's pissed because they could get more benefits not being married. Correct?
I think someone theorized that the cats were eating dry dog food. Plausible considering how sickly those animals look. They are not getting the nutrients they need.I raise dogs for a living and unless you know what you're doing you can really fuck up with food doing it yourself. She seems like a fucking idiot by all accounts so I wouldn't trust her to actually make something with the nutrition they require.
#Free Tyla@Breadbear Slightly late but fellow e beggar cow Kyttie Von Toyye claimed to depend on Swiss Miss for warmth in the Chicago winter. If Polissa ever actually produced a receipt with Swiss Miss on it, I'm officially thinking of it as the unofficial hot cocoa of lolcow e beggars
Home made pet food can be ok if you know what you're doing. An animal can get very sick very quickly with poor food. Food poisoning is a thing even with animals. Cats need taurine. Etc.Obviously pet food isn't covered by food stamps. But couldn't she buy stuff like meat, rice, canned vegetables etc to diy some pet food instead of spending half of it on low tier soft drinks?
And cats have different dietary needs than dogs, so she'd have to make different batches. Then there's her having to/feeling like she has to buy supplements for a raw/cooked homemade food.I raise dogs for a living and unless you know what you're doing you can really fuck up with food doing it yourself. You can, in small amounts, cook meat and/or rice, maybe an egg for a dog (I've done it for mine when he went off his food), but if you're not careful you can deprive the dog of important nutrients.
This will eventually kill a cat. Like @Breadbear says above, cats need a dietary source of taurine, an amino acid. Other animals, including dogs, can synthesize taurine from cysteine, another amino acid. Cats cannot do so because they lack sufficient quantities of two critical enzymes called cysteine dioxygenase and cysteine sulfinic acid decarboxylase. Commercial cat foods in the United States, even the shittiest kibble, have added taurine to address this.I think someone theorized that the cats were eating dry dog food. I sometimes give the dog an egg every once in awhile, but give her dog food otherwise. My vet specifically told me that she should not have grain free dog food (at least as her main meal). The cat gets his own specified food. Not risking that shit.

It reminds her of home!Of course she wants to go to the place famous for their yeasty rolls and throwing trash on the floor
My own hypothesis, which nobody asked for, is that taurine is the main factor in canine dilated cardiomyopathy related to grain free food. I think the metabolome of dogs fed a commerical grain free diet is altered and they become deficient in either taurine precursors or a critical enzyme.I sometimes give the dog an egg every once in awhile, but give her dog food otherwise. I'm not sure $50 is sufficient for dinner at Texas Roadhouse plus drinks and you know she'll want some kind of app. Then there's gas to get there and back. C'mon, grifter, make it an even $100, $10 for every miserable year.I sometimes give the dog an egg every once in awhile, but give her dog food otherwise. What I've noticed on Polissa's wish list is that it seems like every single item is listed with "Priority: Highest" or some similar variant. If everything is high-priority, than nothing is in reality - especially when a luxury item is labeled as urgent as food for someone claiming to have gone without multiple meals .I'd say "feed the damn dog" is more important than "decorate a cat shitting room," but maybe I have a screw loose myself.
The only thing I saw in a cursory glace of headlines is a diesel shortage in Cuba. Unless that's part of a larger world-wide shortage, I'm not sure how this impacts Polissa apart from using it to bounce and squeak online in her increasingly-desperate drive to get attention and grift bucks. And some doom posting:

Some of the "highest priority" stuff is so random too, like DNA repair gummies and that tampon looking brain wave sleep thingy. What I've noticed on Polissa's wish list is that it seems like every single item is listed with "Priority: Highest" or some similar variant. I can't really understand how you'd even enjoy an expensive dinner out knowing you were totally broke otherwise. That alone would prevent a lot of us from feeling like celebrating, and the fact that the pets are doing without proper food would probably kill the mood for any outliers.
When you're completely broke and just struggling to tread water, it's really hard to do things that feel frivolous or unnecessary, even if you're in desperate need of an outlet for all the stress that comes with being poor. If someone gives you a gift card to a restaurant, it's difficult to convince yourself to use it rather than selling it on Facebook Marketplace and using the proceeds to buy groceries or pay bills.
I don't know how anyone could eat a steak, even a shitty one, while their dog and cats were home with nothing to eat.
Add this to the list of things that make me suspect Polissa and Josh aren't as poor as they want people to believe.
