Where we talk about our experiences with guilty gear xrd sign and other fighting games I guess

Maybe if people want to they can host nights where people can get together and play and stuff.

Right now I have trouble fighting Axl, so fuck him. When I have the time I'm gonna set the cpu training dummy as axl so I can spend my time beating the shit out of him.

This is also a place to post images and videos like this one:

spent the weekend with the sf5 beta, pretty unimpressed

you can't hitcofirm light normals, and all combos are basically two medium attacks canceled into a special attack. so it just ends up feeling like everyone plays the same. tick into throw until someones dumb enough to get counterhit. its so....limited, especially compared to xrd, which is basically a fuckfest of potential combos. granted, xrd is more random (clashing normals leading to sillymode is still dumb AF) but ill take random over stiff and lifeless any day.

ill play whatever, add me on steam. should be linked to my profile.

I'm going to wait for the inevitable re-re-release of SF5 before I drop money on it. Fucking Crapcom and their bullshit. I'll never buy a first edition of a fighting game from them after that MvC3 debacle.

allegedly they're doing a moba thing, where characters are added over time and you can use either real money or fight money to unlock them. there's even a mmr-type ranking system. ono promises no super sf5, but we'll fucking see.

i don't blame you for being suspicious though, as someone (ergo, a moron) who bought every single version of sf4 on two platforms.

Might not be the right thread for it, but has there been any news or rumors about Capcom bringing back Darkstalkers?

they explicitly said that resurrection (the HD port) didn't sell well enough to indicate enough interest for ds3

Didn't they say that they won't do that for SFV, though? Judging by their announcements, there's only gonna be that version of SFV which they'll keep updating. And judging by them doing shit that people actually want (i.e. Dragon's Dogma on PC and not giving up entirely on old Devil May Cry), I'd say they can at least be trusted to an extent.

Then again, maybe that's just me being hopelessly optimistic.

i mean, capcoms a business. if there isn't a profit to making ds3, of course it wont happen

any interest in making a skullgirls or xrd lobby? im free later tomorrow evening

PC master version ofc

I recall that the Darkstalkers rerelease actually made it into the Top 10 downloads when it came out, so either it was a really slow week or Capcom expected that franchised have to pull in CoD-tier sales.

It's not stopping them from making a new dmc game after the remake sold poorly tho

I can't really make it for the xrd lobby, too much work to do :( but maybe other people here will play it. I was thinking at some point I'd try to do a lobby thing when I had the time.

Probably the latter. Darkstalkers is a pretty well loved series overall, but Capcom really wants all it's titles to pull in CoD numbers. While you can't really blame them for wanting that, I wish they'd be more realistic about things.

And to the surprise of no-one, it turns out that Street Fighter 5 might have been a little bit rushed to release for the fiscal year and major fighting game tournaments.

But still, you've got my money, Capcom, and rest assured, I'm going to be spending all of Tuesday evening playing this game. Even though there isn't really going to be a proper lobby and spectator mode until March. Even though a more substantial single-player mode isn't going to be out until summertime. Even though you were a little bit dodgy in not announcing backwards compatibility with older-generation fightsticks until the last possible moment, therefore ensuring that Madcatz got plenty of pre-orders for their new line of officially-branded controllers. Even though some people are starting to complain about things on the Internet, as they do. At least the online works. Mostly.

And hey, it's not going to end up as tarnished as Street Fighter x Tekken, right?

...Right?

Just wondering, is this the right thread to bring up a Chinese fighting game known as Dong Dong Never Die? I have been playing it since last week, maybe a bit earlier than that. As much as how it rips off other games along with having two utterly broken fighters one could play as (Violent Dong Dong and Sheng Hua Nan), it feels like a solid fighting game (at least from my perspective as a guy who hasn't really played a lot of fighting games in his life).

ahaha i didn't even know about the lobby thing, that's actually pretty fucking shitty. private matches better work. i know it was probably rushed in time for the capcom pro tour, but it's kind of endemic of the "release it 3/4ths finished then patch the rest in" style of development that's so popular now. i'm just happy the cross-platform play works. i thought that would totally be a "to be added later" feature. even the fucking in-game store isn't open til march.

then again, if the game runs on day 1, it's a better launch than MKX. man, remember when xrd came out and shit just worked? framerate issues aside.
