Better Call Saul

Of all the wickedness that has transpired throughout Breaking Bad / Better Call Saul, Jimmy and Kim falsely and methodically dismantling the image of Howard in front of his wife, leading the poor woman to question her own judgement, is among the coldest and the cruellest.

The difference is that Kim appears genuinely remorseful, while for Jimmy it's just something that they have to get past. He appeared to be more taken aback by the news that the name McGill was to vanish from the legal landscape.

Maybe this opens up an avenue for redemption: Saul reverts to Jimmy, returns to Albuquerque and surrenders to the authorities. Kim, to whom he is married, takes the McGill name, then uses the Sandpiper money to open a practice that specialises in pro-bono work.

There is no joy in Gus's life. Just a fake smile that he always seems to have to struggle to put on.

It was already heavily implied that Gus was gay because of His relationship with Max.

yup, you missed some key moments in Breaking Bad if you didn't walk away knowing Gus was a huge faggot. But he's a righteous faggot, on the level of Omar of the Wire. The faggot who will push your shit in with a knife to your throat to let you know you got sodomized by the king of faggots.

I did like some of the analysis of the episode of stuff I didn't really catch. Saul mentions to Kim, as they are going to bed, that one day they will wake up and go to work and realize they didn't think of Howard at all that day and thats the day they will have moved on. Gus specifically walked away from getting his dick sucked because the swirl of red wine suddenly reminded him of how Hector/Eladio killed his lover Max way back when, and he had forgotten all about Max that day up until that point since he was having "a good day".

That ties directly also into the point that Nacho's dad told Mike, "you cartel guys are all the same. You think revenge is justice. Revenge will not bring back my son." All Gus lives for is revenge, he has literally nothing else in his life. He gives up a life of faggoting around the Rhone valley drinking faggot wine with his faggot waiter because he only lives for revenge.

Gus is still one of my favorite TV characters but it does make for a sad angle to the character, especially when you think back to the time he invited Walter or Jesse to his house for "dinner" and you now know everything he said (about his family, etc) was a lie to keep the Eladio/Salamanca revenge train rolling, and how fucked up even his home was just to keep his life "safe" but what a hollow home life it was.

I do wonder if we will see Mike Ehrmantraut again, that was another amazing set of scenes with him just expressing all the regret of his choices on his face.

This just came to me.
I understand that it's implied, that Saul hasn't met the Dynamic Duo just yet.
But he already lives like a gypsy millionaire. 🤔

He has the sandpiper money, and this at least a million, depending how much they could squeeze them.
I like how everyone in this episode walks away from what they have done, and became empty shells of themselves, outside of Jimmy who shifted the blame to Lalo and lives in ignorance.

Was he gay? I remember people saying that because of Max's death but that doesn't really prove anything. It could just be some guy Gus knew since early childhood who's death effected him.

Just because he liked the guy doesn't mean they were secretly banging.

I dunno, the way he talked about him in BCS I wasn't sure, but when I watched Breaking Bad, I definitely came away with the impression that they were lovers.

It's never directly stated, but Gus paid for his education after dragging him out of the gutter and where close enough that the provides for his home town after his death.

So the rule is no pizza in this universe.
Albuquerque must have some shitty ass pizza then if everyone in the world turns you away after you offer some. Anyone able to confirm or deny how bad it is there?

Shift the blame to Lalo? What are you talking about? Lalo killed Howard, and if Lalo did not show up everything would have been cool.
But the only reason Howard showed up was because they were framing him as an addict. And the only reason Lalo showed up is because Jimmy took a known murderer and drug cartel boss on as a client. And the reason Jimmy allowed a guest into his house was because Kim concealed Lalo being alive from him so he was not worried about Lalo. They are pieces of shit.

Jimmy and Kim invited murderers into their lives by working with criminals. Jimmy takes cartel work and lies to the police and DA about the real identity of Jorge. Kim went into prison to deliver Jorge De Guzman messages knowing he was a murdering psychopath. They are idiots who did not think things through. Now they are surrounded by cartel hitters and drug dealers. And everyone around them is in danger.

Like yeah Lalo pulled the trigger. But Jimmy and Kim put him in their lives and kept him there. And they kept Howard in their lives beyond normal business by harassing him and even drugging him. Both Kim and Jimmy should have bullets in their heads but this is the Breaking Bad universe so they will be fine in the end.
