President Joe Biden on Tuesday said that the United States will impose sanctions “far beyond” the ones that the United States imposed in 2014 following the annexation of the Crimean peninsula.

“This is the beginning of a Russian invasion of Ukraine,” Biden said in a White House speech, signaling a shift in his administration’s position. “We will continue to escalate sanctions if Russia escalates,” he added.

Russian elites and their family members will also soon face sanctions, Biden said, adding that “Russia will pay an even steeper price” if Moscow decides to push forward into Ukraine. Two Russian banks and Russian sovereign debt will also be sanctioned, he said.

Also in his speech, Biden said he would send more U.S. troops to the Baltic states as a defensive measure to strengthen NATO’s position in the area.

Russia shares a border with Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

A day earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered troops to go into the separatist Donetsk and Lugansk regions in eastern Ukraine after a lengthy speech in which he recognized the two regions’ independence.

Western powers decried the move and began to slap sanctions on certain Russian individuals, while Germany announced it would halt plans to go ahead with the Russia-to-Germany Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

At home, Biden is facing bipartisan pressure to take more extensive actions against Russia following Putin’s decision. However, a recent poll showed that a majority of Americans believe that sending troops to Ukraine is a “bad idea,” and a slim minority believes it’s a good one.

All 27 European Union countries unanimously agreed on an initial list of sanctions targeting Russian authorities, said French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, and EU foreign affairs head Josep Borell claimed the package “will hurt Russia … a lot.”

Earlier Tuesday, Borell asserted that Russian troops have already entered the Donbas region, which comprises Donetsk and Lugansk, which are under the control of pro-Russia groups since 2014.

And on Tuesday, the Russian Parliament approved a Putin-back plan to use military force outside of Russia’s borders as Putin further said that Russia confirmed it would recognize the expanded borders of Lugansk and Donetsk.

“We recognized the states,” the Russian president said. “That means we recognized all of their fundamental documents, including the constitution, where it is written that their [borders] are the territories at the time the two regions were part of Ukraine.”

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Putin said that Ukraine is “not interested in peaceful solutions” and that “every day, they are amassing troops in the Donbas.”

Meanwhile, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday morning again downplayed the prospect of a Russian invasion and proclaimed: “There will be no war.”

“There will not be an all-out war against Ukraine, and there will not be a broad escalation from Russia. If there is, then we will put Ukraine on a war footing,” he said in a televised address.

The White House began to signal that they would shift their own position on whether it’s the start of an invasion.

“We think this is, yes, the beginning of an invasion, Russia’s latest invasion into Ukraine,” said Jon Finer, the White House deputy national security adviser in public remarks. “An invasion is an invasion and that is what is underway.”

For weeks, Western governments have been claiming Moscow would invade its neighbor after Russia gathered some 150,000 troops along the countries’ borders. They alleged that the Kremlin would attempt to come up with a pretext to attack, while some officials on Monday said Putin’s speech recognizing the two regions was just that.

But Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told reporters Tuesday that Russia’s “latest invasion” of Ukraine is threatening stability in the region, but he asserted that Putin can “still avoid a full blown, tragic war of choice.”

[The Zombie Empire] a few times on here I have referred to russia as a zombie empire, it’s pretty simple to explain why. Unlike the how the nazi regime was decisively shut down and taken apart (Operations Paperclip and Osoaviakhim notwithstanding), the soviet empire never truly died. It rotted severely, a few pieces dropped off, and it changed color, but overall it retained its central character.

The soviet union employed a partnership of security services and organized criminals to maintain internal control within its empire, the only difference between then and now is that the rot of organized crime has spread deeper and further within modern russia.

The soviet union used incredible violence to force its conquered territories into compliance, and to prevent them from breaking free of soviet influence as was done in Hungary in 1956 and what was then Czechoslovakia in 1968. The freshly renamed russian federation mirrored this violence when Ichkeria (Chechnya) attempted a bid for independence in 1994. Nonetheless, significant parts of the soviet empire which retained their national identity, like Ukraine and the Baltics, were able to successfully split off.

The modern russian empire switched up its flag, but retained every other symbol it inherited from the soviet union. Their red star can still be found on military uniforms and elsewhere, the hammer and sickle isn’t used officially, but it’s still littered all over russia, and of course there is the imperial monument to soviet founder vladimir lenin.

The soviet union never received a firm death, and so it has continued to shamble along in this rotted form, trying desperately to stick on its missing pieces, all while being consumed from within by corruption.

Vlad Vexler reacts to Jordan Petersen on Ukraine, on his second channel, and suggests a 'casual meditation on expertise, on what it means to knew what we are talking about.....', which says a lot in a few words. JP like others projects the US and Europe cultural war on to everything including this war. JP patently failures to understand that the old Soviet KGB took great time and effort to foster a degenerate culture in the West. Vlad Vexler would disagree with that take, which on a certain level is limited, but is factual enough.

Another analysis of Russia's recent string of bad luck, complete with them moving their ammo stores away from the combat zone, terrible accuracy of their artillery, and friendly fire:

Picture of Russian artillery shells hitting their intended target: blades of grass.

These are the guys that the chuds on the other thread believe to be the saviors of the West, mind you. The kind of people who would waste ammo because they don't even bother aiming properly with their artillery.

Edit: Now I think on it, the behavior exhibited by Ivan's troops definitely does point towards drug/stimulant abuse being common. And I definitely don't figure they do urinalysis in the field (or even care), especially if it means they can keep a high optempo on the front & dwell times low in the rear. And it's even more likely Russian leadership is hoping all their drug addicts get killed, so they'll be kept on the line until that happens.
Drug use is always common on the battlefield. Amphetamines were frequently handed out to Allied troops during WW2, and I've no doubt there was some very quiet use during the War on Terror. Hell if things went hot in the Cold War we'd have been doping fighter pilots to the gills if that's what it took to keep them dropping bombs on Ivan.

Hell, just look at the Rip-It addiction the military has these days and tell me the troops aren't already abusing stimulants.

That said, there is just a bit of a difference between doped to the gills on caffeine and doped to the gills on meth, but that's really just how long it takes to finally snap.

Ah.... the devil's syrup; almost by design they fit in grenade pouches, and my kidneys twitch at the mere mention of it. Thanks fam!

Edit: Ultram/tramadol was popular back then (circa '05-'09), as it wasn't widely considered (or even known) as an opiate; easily on par with percocet in terms of addictiveness, both physical & psychological. The Army docs handed them out like tic-tacs for any skeletal/muscular injury, along with industrial doses of Motrin. And in several videos of wounded Russians since the war started, I've heard them talk about giving the wounded tramadol. Though I don't think it's controlled the same over there as it is in the US now.

The difference now is the drugs being used & abused are highly selective and/or potent derivatives & analogs, or are so new they're only a few steps removed from being a research chemical.

At least good ol' clean crank doesn't (typically) result in episodes of face-eating & psychotic breaks that outstrip PCP, and induce behaviors that would make even the most blazed-up crackhead or sherm-smoking nigger embarrassed.

Marxism is Globalism. Globalism is Marxism. The key to understanding why, and what that means lies in the enormous philosophical split between Stalin & Trotsky.

Stalin purged the globalists and "rootless cosmopolitans" from the party and the country. He effectively destroyed the COMINTERN, ending the global push for a borderless/stateless marxism in favor of an insular Russia-centric focus.

Trotsky was our guy because he was a true globalist. And after his death when the CIA funded the Congress for Cultural Freedom for decades, do you know what they did to support Trotsky's idea of globalist marxism? They somehow seemingly managed to put every Marxist author, poet and artist on it's payroll in order to bash...."communism"? So how does that work? These are all Marxist artists and intellectuals on CIA payroll bashing Russia, yet the end goal is exactly what Marxists always wanted. Convenient.

Well it's because they weren't bashing globalism/marxism, they were bashing the mean Soviets for kicking the "rootless cosmopolitans" out of the country and pulling out of their new world order. So we needed a different new world order, aligned against them.

And that's how you end up with the seemingly strange bedfellows of Israel + US + "Globalists" aligned against the nationalist version of communism.

It was never about capitalism vs communism. Even Lenin was more than happy to use capitalism to fund the needs of his nation. Capitalism or communism doesn't really matter since they both always end up as mixed economies anyway.

It's always been about Globalism vs Nationalism. This is exactly what you're seeing play out now too. Any country not "properly aligned" into this new global order, will be dealt with.

You'll own nothing and be happy. In the end that's all that really matters.

"Almost" huh? :P You could not think of a better way to keep troops dosed up on stimulants than giving them super-sized jugs of sugar and caffeine that are conveniently carried around. For those unaware, its extremely difficult to find the larger Rip-It bottles the various PX's carry in civilian stores. If one was cynical they'd say the military was deliberately encouraging them to drink more, especially since it comes out of the serviceman's pocket and not Uncle Sam's.

As to the other part, that's fair. I haven't been keeping track about what's recent in the area of synthetic compounds.

The fuck? Stalin was trying to federalize Eastern Europe, likely in preparation for absorption into the USSR. Unless you thought Socialism in One Country meant the USSR wouldn't try and expand its borders to become one world-spanning country...

Yes, and how does that invalidate my point? Yugoslavia refused to play ball with Stalin's power grab over Eastern Europe and told him to fuck off as they pursued an explicitly nationalist policy in the East to the detriment of their neighbors.

This is what happens when you cross Copium Z with Islamic Arrogance.

Sadly, "West Bad" is how these people operate. As a result, Stalin forcing Eastern Europe into an even more blatantly anti-democratic EU that would then collectively suck Moscow's dick is a good thing and somehow not a form of globohomo operations in action.

Vatnigger, I wouldn't think you were one if you didn't keep bringing it up to deny it.

I don't get a lot of my news from articles because I don't like giving shitty news outlets clicks. I also don't want to spend my time reading articles. I will read some once in a while but mostly I get my news in video form.

I watched this earlier, and it seems those Central Asian republics are looking at Russia being bogged down in Ukraine as their chance to maybe get out from under Russia's sphere of influence if even just a little bit. The video makes it sound like they could fall under the influence of China but with things going the way they are in China I don't think that will happen.

Anyway, it's a good and interesting video. It's something I didn't think of.

It seems Russia is having a hard time recruiting soldiers for the war and they are possibly running out of men. Despite what the Russiaboo vatniggers say Russia only has 400,000 soldiers in their army. Most soldiers come from areas of the country that have low economic opportunities. Russia is trying to get recruits in an area of their country with low unemployment. Yeah, it might not work so well. Like Ryan McBeth said, this is not something people would do if they were winning.

BS, the reason is he wasn't satisfied with their performance regarding rooting out collaborators within their ranks, which is entirely valid.

It's been established you will link videos you haven't watched regarding this topic so uh... yeah.

Anyway bothering to reply because RSS feeds still exist and are still supported. Consider looking into that if you don't want to give news sites clicks but want to access news. News sites are basically malware and objectively spyware nowadays so I think it's wise to avoid them as much as possible.

For those who don't know, the little icon on the bottom right of the page is an RSS icon, as an example.

I do watch or have already watched every video I post. The two videos I just posted I watched. I even gave a brief explanation of what is said in the videos. But I suggest people watch them anyway.

I explained to you why I didn't watch the video about the Russian doomsday weapon. I don't need to. The Russians will never use it and if they ever go retarded or crazy and decide to use it they are going to get wrecked in a major way.

I don't really need to spend my time watching videos about weapons and getting into pointless debates with Russiaboo vatniggers who think MAD isn't a thing and magic Russian missile defense systems will stop all the US ICBM's and leave Russia totally free to nuke anyone they want.
