It’s already established but these discoveries about his extended family just go to reinforce that Fatrick being a “published author” is the one and only accomplishment he can hang his hat on. His entire fragile identity is built on it.

I unironically did the exact same thing for one of my severely autistic (and I do mean actually autistic, the kid can't function and will never be able to hold a real job) nephews. Just watching them put together something makes them happy.
