The TNMT cartoon is 33 years old.You need to be 18 to make an account here.
I feel this hard. Had my bank pull the same shit in May, after having their customers use a physical 2FA thingie for virtually an eternity. I got mad enough to call them up after i saw it was either use the app from now on or buy a new, totally-the-fucking-same-thing-in-a-new-package authenticator for 40 fucking yurodollars because we won't support the old ones anymore. All i got, of course, was "Tough shit, switch banks if you don't like it, why are you even complaining, the app is free" in corpo speak.I hate how phones have become the new default for many things. If I get an account somewhere, it suggests me to use the phone app instead of my browser on my desktop PC, because it's "more secure".
Bitch, what? My desktop PC has an antivirus. My desktop PC sits safely at home, never at risk of falling out of my purse or being stolen. How is a phone more secure? Why? Where did this notion come from?
I honestly don't understand it. I always have my phone with me when I go out. Women's pants and skirts usually lack real pockets, so I have to transport it in my purse. If I accidentally leave my purse somewhere, the phone is gone. People having their phones stolen right out of their hands in public isn't unheard of either. How come a lot of companies tell you that it's more secure than a desktop PC?
And not just companies. My bank recommended using their phone app. Why? When I make transactions, like paying for an online shop order, I do so at home. And at home I have my PC.
Some people use their phone to pay with nowadays, as some sort of debit/credit card replacement, or to use PayPal on. I never logged onto PayPal with my phone once, because the idea feels really unsafe to me.
I guess it's a generational thing. But even then, I absolutely do not understand the claim that phones are safer than desktop PCs or laptops. Can anyone explain this to me?
The most generic modern "I agree with THING / I think THING is cool" term.I STILL don't fucking know what "Based" actually means.
It's from a rapper and refers to freebase.I STILL don't fucking know what "Based" actually means.
This hurt me mentally and physically, thank you.Another one of these posts, but the launch of the Playstation 2 is now closer in history to the launch of the Intellivision than it is to the present day.
Intellivision: December 3rd, 1979
PS2: March 4th, 2000
I tend to see it used more ironically. Like "Hitler and drunk driving is based as fuck."The most generic modern "I agree with THING / I think THING is cool" term.
atleast you still get the cake. The number on my birthday cake.
It's such a great joke from God that you finally figure out in your 50s what you needed to know in your 20s. Thanks a lot God. Bitch. It’s been hard watching my Dad grow older. I remember when he was in his 40s and at the prime of his life, fit, smart, and profession. He’s in his 70s now and has Alzheimer’s. He can barely remember most things now but he still remembers me. I’m somewhere around 10ths from 40 now and the thought is haunting. Our lives are so short and everything happens so fast. I really wish I had longer to cherish all of this beautiful world but the reality is in 30 more years I’ll be like him most likely. It’s realizing how terrifyingly short 30 years is that makes me feel old. It’s nothing. The blink of an eye. 10 years here and another 10 and before you know it it’s over before you ever got to really get anywhere.

Don't bother. More than any generation previously, the lingo changes far to fast to make any meaningful sense of what the kids mean.I STILL don't fucking know what "Based" actually means.
