A censure in the AZ (or US) Senate is basically nothing more than the nuns in Catholic school rapping you across the knuckles with a ruler -- you were a bad boy!

Short term, nothing will happen, although the censured is officially on notice that they fucked up. They can't get rid of him except through expulsion and that requires like a 2/3 majority vote (I believe).

It is funny that the censure is coming from his own party, which likely to kill any chance of reelection for him.

I'm thinking @Gehenna was right. This was an op gone wrong. What I think went wrong is he was just supposed to hold some kids hostage and this was likely agreed on before he went in, hence why police played hostage situation with an active shooter.
