To those in the LGBT community, the identity and orientation they present is everything to them. And the time they were closeted is their own personal Hell. Like a prison made that they're aching to break out of. So when they come out, it's a matter of euphoria and they get every little thing possible to have their "true" identity be affirmed, even things like birth certificates and tombstones. So anything that reminds them of that painful prison is seen as a personal attack on them.

The shitty behavior is either forgotten (which is already bad), or is known but not even acknowledged at all (which is intellectually dishonest and much worse).

It's incredibly easy to look at things like Keffals along with the insufferable stanbase and say the word "cult" , and the point has been made multiple times across this thread, but that is exactly what is happening.

It is wild, but not really surprising, that so many morons are rallying behind a person of interest who continues to be such a fucking dunce.
