General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Matsuri was on a long and slow decline but seems to have flipped a switch overnight.
Nah it hasn't been overnight, she's been working hard for a while now, rebuilding bridges and friendships. I don't know if it was getting scammed and blackmailed or seeing what happened to Rushia or what but she definitely changed course a few months ago and made an effort to be less menhera and creepy and get along better with people. She's a lot more likable than she was before. Still a subhuman APEX player though unfortunately

What level of degeneracy is this? Just straight up gambling on stream?

i know this is extremely late but i literally joined yesterday, but feel free to ignore this autistic newfag pebble on the road
i am however a long-time lurker here.

but i just wanted to say im really disappointed with the direction nijien has taken. im talking specifically about the type of people they're letting in to become their new talents

and frankly - speaking as a future applicant here for both companies (cover and anycolor), holostars en is looking like a better option rn. now don't get me wrong, i still wanna strive for a spot in both places,
it's just that i'm already dreading being a part of a future nijien wave based on the vibe i'm getting from ilusers, and it's turning me off big time. i really didn't mind feesh's shit that much and thank god (literally) for nina and her not following suit. but purple homo boy was the first huge red flag. now aia. i see a disturbing trend here.

because if by some miracle, a sewage rat like me gets accepted by anycolor, i am not looking
forward to june. something tells me that i might be held at gunpoint by my "potential colleagues"
if i don't say "happy pride month" or say the right pronouns.

i just hope that holostars en isn't like that in terms of the work environment,
literally would lose its appeal for me in an instant. from my limited understanding
at least holo roommates keep to themselves in that aspect with however they identify, prius and all.

if i do end up in nijien, i'd stick to my own bubble, because i can't imagine having your entire existence revolve around pandering to the fujo and troon masses, just to have their grimy money. i'll pick being a wagey over selling my soul.

hoping maybe the new niji wave will prove me wrong and they're not as bad as i'm making them out to be.

my two cents, rate me MATI and the like if you want
TL;DR nijien is becoming unappealing, from an applicant's pov unless you're a part of that "demographic"

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer but :optimistic::optimistic::optimistic:

You can't tell me you'd rather be a wagie and have me believe you. As a wagie myself I would rather do anything else, especially play a cute anime person. Say you do get in, and I hope you do just like I hope I do someday: Are you going to turn down sponsorships from companies you don't like? Convictions are great, but be honest with yourself about what they are.

Matsuri definitely matured as a person before her recent incline but not as a streamer. Her audience doesn't want to watch APEX all the time. She knows her audience would rather not watch APEX all the time. By streaming APEX all the time, she wasn't taking her job seriously.

If you're named Gura or Ayame and people will fall over themselves to kiss your feet, then sure go ahead do whatever. But everyone else needs to compromise between what they want to do and what their audience wants them to do and until recently Matsuri wasn't willing to make that compromise.

And yeah, some just can't hack it and are better off playing what they like such as Kiara but her core audience just wants her to be happy so that's fine. She'll never be the Pekora she dreamed of being originally but she's filling her own niche and it makes her a decent chunk of change with how devoted KFP are.

Iofi's new outfit. I love the outfit. The hood is fantastic, the skirt is gorgeous, the sleeves are terrific, amazing jewelry, the top is splendidly beautiful. It's wonderful. And the hood makes is SO CUTE.

Suisei's roommate's stated age checks out with what we know.

Here's her roommate's pixiv account. She was in the art club in school. Her pixiv output stops in 2015. Say she moves to Tokyo from the sticks to try and become an idol. She'd have to work to make ends meet after that and so wouldn't have the leisure time to update her pixiv. 18+7=25.

Miko's roommate is 26. The duo is consistent with the fact that Suisei is the younger of the two in how they interact beyond just the ~20 day gap in debut date. So it checks out there too.

(I'm just guessing Anemachi's age based off how they interact. I'd say at least 2 years and at most 4 but it's just a guess. Anemachi feels a bit too doting for it to be just one year but they're close enough that I don't think it's 5+ years.)
The more I find out about her, the more I'm uncertain I am about whether I'm impressed or jealous of her talent and ambition. Fuck I don't even have a dream, meanwhile girls like Kiara/Calli just move to Japan to be idols/rappers at 15/18. You can't say they haven't earned their success, vtweeters stay seething.

What level of degeneracy is this? Just straight up gambling on stream?
Remember when she had letters off children and said she was family friendly?

Iofi's new outfit is cute, but I wish they would stop shoving the cat ears on all hoods (Suisei's hood has the same thing), her outfit would look better with just a normal hood. I still think it's cute and the colours are great.

Done some minor digging on some of the Wave 6 people in my spare time and here's some broad tidbits.

• Fujo gachafag. Particularly for Twisted Wonderland.
• Speaks Spanish. Seems to have some non-beginner level of control over Japanese as well but I'm not sure how much.
• Has an electric guitar. Unknown how well she can play it.

• Is actually Singaporean despite her Viet tweet, so she probably speaks Chinese I guess.
• Had one video addressing the controversy of Disney mixing all SEA cultures into one for their Raya movie, but other than that has only really done cosplay/beauty stuff. I'm not from SEA so I don't know how much of a big deal that was or if relations between SEA and EA are actually fractured enough to justify a video.
• Might be a TTRPG player as she posted a couple D&D-style OC's on a Reddit page for that stuff.
• Thinks it was retarded to change McCree's name.
• Is a fan of The Promised Neverland, MHA, The Last Airbender.
• Her fans seemed to really fucking love her videos.

• Speaks English, Japanese, Mandarin
• Yakuza and Danganronpa fan (+2)
• Main games are APEX, Valorant, and LoL, but I've checked many archives and can't find a single instance of her playing Ranked in any of them yet. She looks like a mid-plat/low-diamomd APEX player.
• Her streams are usually really long and they're split between singing and then gameplay. She tends to sing even during gameplay.
• Can draw similar to how Selen and Enna can draw.

Also, during AmiYoshiko's (Scarle) farewell stream, she mentioned that she started talking about a possible hiatus in the middle of June, which means that's probably when either the final interview was or when she was accepted, so they've probably been in the Niji Discord for about 6-7 weeks.

We can assume that the ILUNA designs have probably been in production since around the time of the auditions so they can apply for a character; or just after, as Maria and Scarle's designs have a lot of nods to Himechin and Ami: such as Himechin's chuuni teddy bears. All this means that ILUNA was probably done in about 4 months-ish.

This raises some questions about what was going on with Tempus' designs. Auditions 'opened' on the same day as ILUNA, and assuming that they never actually had plans when they allowed male auditions last year (which is actually the most generous thought process), it means that both production pipelines took about the same amount of time.

I know people accused me of rrat-building the first time I mentioned it, so allow me to instead provide the most likely scenarios and a reasonable explanation with each:

1) There was a breakdown in communication between the artists and the HoloPro producers/management which caused the artists to not really know what was being asked of them.

2) There was a commission-based issue: either not enough time or the payment only covered a certain timeframe.
2.1) This could have been a result of the announcement having been brought forward.
2.2) This could also have been due to a lower allocated budget not harmonising with the prestige of the artists commissioned.

3) The designs are exactly as intended from everyone involved and they just got outclassed on production turnover.

Now that Suisei's throat isn't up to it any more HACHI is my go-to VSinger for karaoke streams.

Consistent quality and genre wise, not much downtime spent chatting, no padding at the end reading superchats or similar nonsense. Just a quality singing experience with a bit more humanness than a simple song playlist. I'm sure some people like a more personal or down-to-earth experience but I personally like putting karaoke streams on as background music to enjoy while doing other stuff.

Her latest single that I'm pretty sure wasn't posted is a banger:

She's a pure VSinger so she doesn't do anything else but she's a gem.
